Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been ruled to be most prevalent to military retiree or officers returning from deployment from various studies conducted over different periods. This population accounts for about 2% of the American population, thus the need for formulating a workable plan for their amicable integration back to the society after their deployment is needed (Seal, et al 2009). Recent research shows that the prevalence of the disorder among men and women in service is equal, which is characterized by depression, angry, guilty, and anxious due to the scenes experienced in the battlefield, making it difficult for them to integrate to the lives outside the service effectively (Seal, et al 2009). For this reason, many organizations have in the past tried to research the best ways of reducing PSTD among this population though, no reliable solution has been found because the cases are still overwhelming. In the bid to conduct an action research proposal for this problem, I choose to seek funding from World Health Organization (WHO), a global organization which works towards ensuring that the world population gets the best healthcare services at any time.

The choice of WHO as the source of funding for my proposal is because this is an international organization determined in seeing the world population in their right health and senses especially for military personnel returning from other countries. For that reason, I am optimistic that this organization will be much willing to sponsor my research as it would add credibility to their profile when a workable plan toward reducing PSTD among military retirees is formulated from out of their project funding program. Secondly, being an internationally operating organization, this proposal would go a long way in implementation not only in the U.S but also in other countries who have their military personnel deployed in war torn areas.

This being an unsolicited grant proposal, the organization would require various information about the project for the consideration for funding ( Coley & Scheinberg, 2016). Among the requirements are; the proposal outline which indicates the scope of work, possible dates and deadlines, the amount of money required for the research and the hypothesis of the study ( Nicholson & Ioannidis, 2012). These in most cases, acts as the basis of consideration depending on the extent at which the plan seems workable.

When applying for this grant, one would be required to submit a written proposal with a cover letter to the organization's regional offices, which can also be done in the online application. Upon receiving the proposal, the organization will evaluate the proposal, and subsequently, vet the candidate to access how committed and familiar they are with the proposed research. The vetting procedure also ensures that the organization only funds projects which have a substantial potential of producing positive results ( Locke, Spirduso & Silverman, 2014). After the evaluation of both the proposal and individual performance during the vetting procedure, the organization may decide to fund or not to fund the project. In my side, however, I have prepared an efficient work plan for the proposed research and poses every aspect that would be required for consideration.
