As a BS Education Studies student, I am required to meet veracious professional expectations that will enable me to become a qualified candidate for the position of an elementary school teacher. Living and planning on working in the 21st century in itself require me, upon acquiring my degree, to have particular skills and work abilities in the workplace. Among the skills and work, abilities include being tech-savvy, diverse as well as flexible, which can all be attributed to the advancement in technology. To be able to connect and communicate effectively with my future students entirely, there will be the need to incorporate technology into the learning process for effectiveness (Stronge, 2007). However, the named skills are not somewhat professional but general and are also of some significance.
With regards to the professional skills and abilities that are expressed in the introduction to this Degree’s course include; gaining skills on the teaching and learning process in various courses such as social context. On the other hand, it sharpens one’s skills as far as critical thinking, critical reading, as well as writing and research, are concerned (Stronge, 2007). However, other than gaining the named skills, to become a qualified teacher there are other professional expectations required of me as a BS Education Studies student.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
These professional expectations in the workforce upon completion of my studies in BS Education will include workforce development, development of children’s programs, the ability to conduct international training and development, research in education as well as community education. To attain the mentioned professional expectations as well as skills and abilities, I will need to focus on various concentrations offered with the BS Education degree program I am undertaking such as teaching strategies, family education and instructional technologies.
In a time when the economy, as well as other aspects of the community, are driven by innovation, technology and knowledge, a professional edge is required to remain relevant and competitive in every field of practice or work. As a teacher, I will play a huge role in using a new and fresh approach to my teaching methods, which will be necessary for equipping my students with the skills necessary to be competitive in the current economy. To impart that knowledgeability and skill, I will need to learn to myself through the courses, I will study to attain my degree in Bachelor of Science in Education.
Among the areas in which I will prepare adequately for, which are also part of the professional expectations that will be required of me by the workforce I will join, is early childhood studies and program administration (Stronge, 2007). Professionally, every elementary school teacher is required to know the process of education among students studying early childhood studies such as learning theories. This is important because having the skills necessary to teach and execute the learning theories will ensure effective teaching on my part, thus nurturing my students’ abilities and understanding in the various subjects.
In conclusion, as an aspiring elementary school teacher, the workforce requires me to acquire the professional skills necessary for equipping my students with the needed skills and abilities that will enable them to thrive in further studies as well as later in the future and as far as the 21st century is concerned. Therefore, in as much as one focuses on acquiring the professional skills and abilities learnt in school, it is also essential to be able to deliver on the current expectations of technology and innovation to stay relevant. This will entail being tech-savvy and innovative in the manner in which I will conduct my teaching as well as a learning process.
