PART 1
Measurable Goals
The target behavior that I intend to change is the number of days that I go to the gym within a specific period. Going to the gym is essential in ensuring that I remain healthy as per expectations due to the lifestyle that I live. However, my analysis of the number of days that I go to the gym suggests the need for change concerning this expectation. Currently, I go to the gym at least three days for 14 days, which acts as my baseline for the target behavior. I intend to change this behavior by ensuring that I go for at least eight days for the 14-day period, which would help me meet my expected target. That means that I would be supposed to make several key adjustments to make sure that I achieve this target behavior.

I conducted the self-assessment by making necessary observations for a period of 14 days with the sole intention of having to examine my behavior with regard to my attendance at the gym. I made observations focusing on the number of days that I went to the gym with the focus being towards identifying the exact amount of time that I spent. Additionally, the observations focused on identifying some of the antecedent and behavior resulting in consequence of me attending the gym. The specific type of recording method used as part of this self-assessment was ABC analysis with the focus being on the antecedent (A) and behavior (B), which would determine the consequence (C). The use of this data recording method was outstanding, as it not only focused on trying to examine the number days that I attended the gym but also sought to determine the specific determinants of whether or not I went to the gym within a particular period.
The target behavior, which is to increase the frequency of going to the gym, is not occurring at the expected level considering that the antecedent (A) fails in setting the mood for ensuring that I go to the gym. Going to the gym is a decision that one is expected to make depending on the atmosphere within a specific period. Consequently, that would mean that if I do not have the right mood, my decision of going to the gym remains as being limited. In the three days that I went to the gym, one key aspect to note is that the mood that was set outmatched my actual outcome, which helped in reflecting on my target behavior. Going to the gym helps me keep fit and healthy at all times, which is essential to help avoid a wide array of health issues. In my continuation of data collection, I will collect data focusing on the number of days that I go to the gym with the specific focus being on duration using the ABC analysis as the primary recording method.
PART 2
Brief Summary
Brand & Schweizer (2015) take note of the fact that going to the gym remains as one of the key ways through which persons can maintain their health status, as this acts as a guarantee that they would avoid conditions that include obesity among others. One of the most significant challenges arising concerning the decision to going to the gym is that the majority of the people find it hard to determine the specific facilitators of such behaviors. The consequence of this is that it seeks to create a non-effective outcome considering that it becomes hard or challenging for persons to make the decisions allowing them to go to the gym. From that perspective, it is clear that persons find themselves in a situation where they are likely to encounter critical issues that may affect their decisions to go to the gym within a given period. Brand & Schweizer (2015) argue that the lack of facilitating behaviors creates a situation where it becomes hard or challenging for persons to make the decision that would allow them to match set out goals and objectives. Consequently, this means that going to the gym occurs as a personal outcome or choice that will be determined by one's mood and behaviors. Achieving positive results concerning the actual decision to going to the gym means that one would be expected to set out specific measures that would define the actual outcome associated with building that mounting platform that establishes the mood or decision to go to the gym.
Proposed Behavior/Intervention Plan to Change Behavior
Based on the prosed intervention plan outcome, which is increasing frequency regarding the number of days that I go to the gym, it is important to evaluate some of the essential facilitation factors. The first notable factor to note is my health, which would serve as a critical reason for having to decide to go to the gym while building on an overall capacity to match this outcome. The second factor that would facilitate the same is the mood that I have before going to the gym, which would act as a determinant of whether or not I go to the gym within a specific period. The third factor to consider is the expectations that I have after going to the period for a particular period, which may be 3 or 4 months depending on what I expect as an outcome of going to the gym. Management of the consequences will focus solely on the need for having to understand that although going to the gym may not be the best possible decision, exercising will be of great value to my health. I will need to set out a strategic outcome for myself within for a specific period, which would be determined by my going to the gym. That means that I would need to focus on setting out this expectation based on the overall structure of expectation concerning my decision to go to the gym.
Possible Obstacles
One of the potential obstacles that I am likely to encounter in my going to the gym is the feeling of being tired considering that I spend a lot of time undertaking other activities. By the end of the day, I always find myself in a situation where it becomes difficult or challenging for me to go to the gym considering how tired I feel. Another obstacle that I encounter revolves around the lack of motivation that would allow me to increase the frequency of my going to the gym. From this perspective, it can be argued that lack of motivation creates a situation where it becomes hard or painful for me to experience positive consequences touching on my decision to go to the gym more frequently.
Review of Progress
I will review the progress that I make concerning increasing the frequency of the number of days that I go to the gym based on the ABC analysis. The analysis will provide me with a clear understanding of whether indeed I am moving in the right direction concerning setting the right mood that would facilitate my actual decision to go to the gym. Additionally, the analysis will also determine the consequence associated with projecting my decision not only as an expectation but also as a reality. That means that I would be able to build on my capacity to reflect on possible outcomes in trying to enhance the frequency associated with my actual outcome is going to the gym. One of the critical expectation of reviewing my progress is that it will help provide me with that basic understanding of areas that I would need to improve as part of ensuring that I achieve positive results, based on my target.
Behavioral Terminology/Concepts
Based on my analysis of my take date I notice that my going to the gym was determined strictly by the days that I had time in the morning, which provided me with a leeway to help decide to go to the gym. I believe that I will achieve my target behavior by trying as much as possible to create time that would act as a critical framework through which to determine my decision to go to the gym. I will focus much of my attention on building my positive reinforcement , which is essential for me considering that it provides me with that central avenue for behavioral rehearsal before I make the decision to go to the gym more frequently based on the rewards that I am expected to have as part of my decision.
Changes or Modifications Made to Target Behavior
Based on the analysis or my target behavior, I will make any notable changes to this behavior, as my decision to make changes would have serious implications with regard to creating a significant avenue for making necessary changes. Instead, I will focus on implementing the necessary reinforcements that would be of great value for ensuring that I am well positioned towards achieving useful results with regard to my target behavior. One of the key aspects to note is that my target behavior will also seek to create an avenue for change touching on what I would expect as part of implementing the expected reinforcements to help achieve possible outcomes.
Method
The intervention plan focused on identifying some of the facilitators that would allow me to advance my capacity to deliver on positive outcomes focusing on my decision to go to the gym more frequently. I took note of the fact that one of the critical facilitators was the time that I had in the morning, which would have helped in building my decision to achieve possible outcomes. The first step that I took to implementing the same was trying as much as possible to create a schedule that would allow me to have some time in the morning, which would act as facilitation towards achieving expected results. The second step that I took was focusing me of my attention towards the rewards that I would achieve based on my target behavior, which was essential towards ensuring that I meet the specific target behavior that I had set out for myself.
Results/Discussion
Based on the intervention plan, one of the key theme to consider is my target behavior is determined solely by my ability to focus on creating a positive environment that would support this decision. Throughout the observation, I was able to take note of the fact that my ability to go to the gym was determined by my immediate environment, which sought to determine the mood that I had. In general, this means that my environment acts as one of the critical determinants of whether indeed I would be able to achieve positive results in creating that proactive environment for effectiveness. In cases where my mood did not match possible outcomes towards my target behavior, I was able to make necessary adjustments focused on enhancing my moods while ensuring that I am able to make the actual decision to go to the gym.
Maintenance and Generalization
Next time, I believe that one area that I would seek to change is the actual process of determining the extent of the target behavior, which I believe would play an essential role in the decision allowing me to achieve possible outcomes. I plan to maintain my results by creating an ABC analysis for my daily routine to determine whether I would be facilitated with the expected outcome associated with going to the gym. I generalization, I will provide others with information on the ABC analysis, which would be of great value for them in their approaches towards achieving their target behaviors. I will apply the skills that I have learned in future behaviors by identifying the target behavior while focusing much of my attention towards the facilitators to help achieve the set-out target behavior.
