A Psychosocial Assessment is an evaluation of a person's mental health, social status, and functional capacity within the community. It is the measure of the client's ability to perceive of her ability to function adequately. Based on the Dori case study, I will use the cognitive-behavioral theory for her treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy will be used to empower Dori to live a healthy life and be able to support her daughter. The talk therapy will enable her to change her thoughts regarding her worth and overcome the fear as well as beat the nightmare of the traumatic event. CBT is the preferred method of treatment as it is brief and an evidence-based approach

The theory will address the social abilities, Dori reports not having any friend and only receiving support from her mother and cousins. This is a result of depressive disorders, which will be addressed through talk therapy and empowering her strength. Through the use of motivational speaking, she will be able to open up and share what is most taunting about the rape she encountered ( Shelley, Michelle, Zindel, & Robert, 2015)

CBT will enable her to feel better about herself; overcome the emotions that are making her stuck and withdrawal. She will be empowered to maintain positive thinking and avoid negative thoughts of the event happening again in the future. This will enable her to interact adequately with the community. This will allow her to be able to cope with the emotions as they arise. CBT will be administered in collaboration with exposure therapy so that she can handle the nightmares and flashbacks resulting from the event ( Fréchette-Simard, Plante, & Bluteau, 2018) . Dori should be able to keep working and interacting with the community adequately. This will be done by exploring her strength and assuring her that she can still be able to maintain a healthy life. The inclusion of her social group is critical in maintaining recovery after she goes through treatment.
