One cannot but encounter the fact that there are unquestionable distinctions between purpose and stance even though the two terms seem to be tightly interrelated. In particular, one has to be conscious that each piece of writing incorporates a certain purpose. Obviously, the authors write in order to encapsulate their thoughts, give utterance to their views, and entertain. It is imperative to understand that being involved in academic writing requires making an emphasis on more than one purpose at the same time. To be precise, while the authors put a lot of effort into convincing their readers of a specific position, they may also make an attempt to express as fully as possible themselves. In any way, it becomes apparent that the writing process itself does require putting a high priority on a single purpose. When the authors set out to write something, they become predisposed to elaborate on a certain stance, which should be referred to as an opinion on a specific topic. The manner in which the authors convey that stance comes to constitute the tapestry of insights that they expand. In academic writing, making a stance has a strong connection to the words the writers imply and the way they make an appeal to the audience. Unlike taking an effective authorial stance that relies on the technical aspects of writing, making a statement of purpose predominantly gravitates towards the moral or message of the story as a whole.

While considering a topic for my essay, I think my purpose might be prompting the audience to debunk some misinterpretations that result in extremely unfavourable misunderstandings and stressful situations, respectively. In regard to my stance, it would most likely be about taking zero tolerance towards those individuals who appear reluctant to get rid of their thoughtless misrepresentations. Arguably, I might be overwhelmingly critical of those unwilling to be fully objective, aiming to put an end to their false assumptions. And although ideas may tend to evolve over time, the aforementioned purpose and stance will not fundamentally change in future.
