The role of racism in the US is inevitable in the schools, yet it is never addressed adequately. The educators have to assess the impacts of racism in education. Race means the color of an individual's skin or the texture of hair. Racism is a belief that one group is inferior to the other groups. It has an aspect of ignorance and exploitation based on ethnicity, culture, or color (Aveling, 2007). The educators should be careful of their regard to the students from racially diverse groups. They should not attach the relationship between race and intelligence as it has been the trend, as proved by some scientists in the last centuries. The whites are seen to have high intelligence levels than other races ( Joseph, Viesca & Bianco, 2016) . Critical race theory addresses issues of racial inequality that posit racism as an ideological issue. There is a unique role of race in educational research and practice. There should be a critical race framework in education due to great performances posited by other races. Educators should challenge the dominant ideologies of racism and incorporate credible and liberatory approaches. The students also have got some beliefs in the influence of their races in schools. Hence the teachers should not avoid the issue or topic by adopting color blindness approach in the pedagogical approach as it denies the students part of their being.
We do not have a level playing field in the US in terms of racism. Despite the sensitizations on racisms, it remains inevitable. The adults avoid black students in racial terms even nowadays, making the Black students pissed off. The teachers also classify the students based on races and not in social classes. The teacher's approach influences the relation of students based on their races. The society also advocates for racism as the whites believe in the inferiority of other races (Womeli, 2016). There should be a focus on teachers to change racist education. The teacher's attitude to racism determines how the students respond to diverse cultures. There should also be a strategy to improve knowledge for all students to reduce the inequalities gaps, such as community partnerships. The curriculum should also address the importance of cultural diversity to promote respect for all cultures by incorporation of culturally relevant teaching. The learners get enough intercultural knowledge promoting their awareness.
