The integration of the different tunes, melody and tonal variation, makes the album an amazing collection of Ray in the year 1962. Each song creates a mood which may be a preparation for the next song, which is strategically placed to blend in the multi-gene album perfectly.

Most of the songs contained in Vol. 1& 2 of the "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" album were originally composed in 1962[2]. This is the period when jazz and country music were on breakthrough and they were the favourite genes of the time. The message contained in most of the songs was love and romance messages. For instance, in the song "I can't stop loving you" the lyrics are arranged do convey a message of love and heartbreak. For instance,

"(I can't stop loving you)

I've made up my mind

To live in memories of the lonesome times

(I can't stop wanting you)

It's useless to say

So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday"

Others are Bye bye love and Born to lose. This album was an inspiration to the people who were nursing heart breaks and strengthened their souls in such a way that they would forget the pain of broken relationships and be able to start afresh. The lyrics to most of his songs touched the listeners and taught them endurance and patience when it comes to matters concerning love and relationships. These lyrics can also be used in inspiration and motivational speeches when addressing a society, to gain focus of what lies ahead, and not to be lost in the broken and wasted past. To always never to give up no matter what the situation may look like.

The message in his songs did not sideline any racial aspect, and can equally be of importance to any person regardless of the race and with a better and knowledgeable understanding of the poetic aspect of the literature. The economic class and gender have also been overruled in the conveying of the message, as anybody who listens to the lyrics can relate the message to their life.
