Just from the tile ‘Rebellious Silence’ and photo, the first impression I got is the feeling of emotion towards Muslim women and the plight they undergo in their society. The picture appears to be divided equally on either side of the rode which appears as if the woman is holding on her hands. The rode appears to pass through the mouth which represents an index finger crossing the moth as a symbol of showing someone to remain silence and not reveal the secrets. The woman is dressed in chador, a Muslim dressing for women which covers the body except the face. Besides, the Arabic words that are written on the face of the woman disguises the color of chador and only exposes the eyes to hide the general facial expression of sadness and depression on the woman’s face. The woman stares at the audience directly and her facial expression speaks it regardless of being oppressed forced to remain silence. The dressing is therefore used to hide more evidence of frustrations Muslim women face in the Middle East. The picture is therefore used to convey idealised misconceptions about Muslim religion and more so their women ( Smith et al/, 2015) . Generally, the picture evidently affirms the stories I have heard on media and read about Muslim religion, culture, and beliefs especially regarding women.
Task II: video
From the video, it is evident that Neshat is an Iranian women artist living in exile. Nishat reveals the pain that she goes through following the separation from her loved one following the tyrant regimes that stick in power and torture Muslim women undergo through in their quest to fight for their freedom. Even after living in exile and being separated from their loved one and country for 12 years, she doesnot find her place in country because she cannot be critical to the regime.

From the video, my opinion on the image has not changed but instead I have gained a deeper understanding of oppression that Iranian and Muslim women in the Middle East and the whole world go through ( Grovier, 2014) . He image portrays the oppression Islamic women undergo to fight for their freedom. Nishat has taken the position of an acivitst and a freedom fight whose aim is to see Iranian and Muslim women get their freedom and place in the society ( Jardim, 2014) . Therefore, it is evident that besides hiding their bodies, Muslim women undergo a lot of issues including intimidation and oppression by the prevailing regimes and religious beliefs.
