With the use of personality assessment tools, I have been able to identify my personality characteristics. In the process, I have gained new insights into the various aspects and attributes of personality that I had not known before. There before, I thought introversion was only depicted through me being quiet compared to other people. Still, after the assessment, I gained additional information on the trait. I came to learn that introversion also points out to my desire to live a private life, and the ability to redraw my energy from being in my personal space. Also, I thought kindness was a quality that only the extroverted individuals in society possess due to their preference for interacting with many different people. After the assessment, I learned that I was a kind person who liked to help the underprivileged members of the society regardless of my introversion.
Before the personality assessment I undertook, I assumed that likeability was a character trait that only the extroverted people possessed. That was because, like many people, I associated being liked with being popular among people and often starting conversations with them on various topics to keep them interested in me. After the evaluation, I realized that likeability is based on emotional rather than physical connections that I formed with other people. I previously thought that impatient as one of my character traits was only about being upset when people keep me waiting for so long. Later on, I realized that impatience also covered me not being comfortable with negative criticism from other people. The personality assessment that I undertook led me to develop a new understanding of the character traits that I had before and their descriptions.
