The purpose of the Code of Ethical Conduct NAEYC is to oversee the implementation of the principles and core values. Teachers are supposed to follow the ethical guideline that will help them in decision making especially with children (Freeman, 2004). In this paper we are going to highlight some of the core values based on the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and the CEC standards for professional practice. These values affect the teaching capabilities of teachers in relation to the children. I will compare them to my own core values as a teacher. Secondly this paper will discuss how a professional teacher is supposed to embrace the discussed core values. There are seven notable core values highlighted in the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct. They were all formulated to address teachers and their commitment to kids. The first value is appreciating childhood as a good human cycle stage that is unique. This is an important value especially when modeling children’s esteem. The esteem of a child could be messed up when the teacher does not appreciate a child as they are regardless of their childishness. This improves their confidence and in due time the child will start to express themselves and discover their talents. The other code core value is basing work on the knowledge of how to teach and develop children. This should be categorized as one of the main code core values since it should be the ultimate goal of any professional teacher. This is in line with my core value of patience which enables me to be accommodating and understanding to the children. It further supports the ability to acknowledge the childish behavior of my students and give them freedom to express themselves. The third code is appreciating small family bonds between the child and their family (Feeney & Freeman, 1999). Supporting such bonds will result to the growth of children’s values. Even as they approach their adolescent phase where they become rebellious, a child who was supported can be controlled. Teacher should know that children are best supported in a family, cultural and society context. This ensures the child grows with good values that reflect morality. The other code core value is recognizing that both adults and children achieve their full potential in a relationship based on respect and trust. This should be one of the first things that a teacher should try to get from a child in order to create a valuable relationship. This can be compared with my core value of nurture. It gives me the ability to create a family like environment for the child to grow in and flourish within the school environment.  The code core values discussed above are in reference to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct address the responsibilities that teachers have to young children. The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) professional ethical principles is a professional teacher’s ethics body that practices professional standards policies that respect people with versatile characteristics of people with exceptionalities. One of the code core values that they uphold is maintaining their expectations. Some of the exceptional children need patience in order for them to develop the highest possible learning outcomes. This is in line with my core value of patience as discussed above. It is evident that patience is a required virtue in the education industry. It is an ethical value that helps the teacher to understand each child's needs and attend to them accordingly.   Some of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) principles includes ensuring high level professional competence and integrity (Cook et al., 2014). This means practicing professional judgment skills to benefit children with exceptional skills. This can be compared to my personal value of fairness and equality. This helps me to avoid discriminations and treat children and their parents equally. The other value is promoting active participation of exceptional children in the school and the community in general. Looking at these values, we can compare them to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct by saying that the council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is focused on people children with exceptionalities or special needs, while the NAEYC Code just covers everything generally. The seventh code value states that teachers should support and the physical and psychologically challenged children with exceptionalities. This could be compared to my core value of respect, which enables me to be considerate and treat each child with respect and humanity. I will embrace values from both organizations and use them in my teaching career by following each one of them. I will also engage in various training sessions to polish my core values and sharpen my teaching skills. I will embrace these values through increasing my knowledge by reading books that improve my teaching skills. I will further embrace these values by teaching them to my colleagues and this will improve the teaching environment, making schools  favorable habitat for young children. I will accept the conditions and treat every child without favor of race, culture religion or any factor that does not influence positive energy. From what I have gathered from both core values, the common goal is to ensure that children are brought up to be people with great morals from that values that are instilled from the beginning.
