The movie " War Room " is a despicable, preachy and ostentatious movie with twisted standards camouflaged as wholesome Christian entertainment. It illustrates the challenges that Christians believers encounter in a family setting. It is a Kendrick Brothers film that addresses mostly those God-fearing victims of domestic abuse. The movie is written by Alex Kendrick and Brother Stephen. The movie touched on subjects regarding family love, divorce and parenting. War Room goes beyond the family setting to illustrate that human problems can be solved through sharing with others and believing in a player. The main actors are; Priscilla C. Shirer (Elizabeth), Karen Abercrombie (Miss Clare, T.C Stallings (Tony). Elizabeth is a real estate agent who must be taught in an extended conversation with her client Miss Clara. Her husband Tony is a salesperson in a pharmaceutical company where he travels a lot leaving his family. They have a daughter Danielle who Elizabeth feels Tony has neglected his duties as a father. This causes many arguments in their house that lead to Elizabeth wanting to visit her lawyer to file a divorce. Miraculously, she meets a helper Miss Clara who takes her through the prayers and preaching to save her marriage. The film “ War Room” uplifts both spiritually and emotionally as it is both an entertainment and a spiritual uplifter.

The film actors portray successfully their characters as a major determinant in a film's award. Elizabeth and Tony working as spouses engage in the quarrels as in most instances Tony could not like sharing his money with extended family. It depicts real-world families. Furthermore, the movie portrays more the role of women in the family whereby Elizabeth appears to be the pillar of their marriage. Additionally, the film also portrays the strength of a woman. Elizabeth, a female figure in the film is portrayed as enthusiastic and very dedicated to having her marriage back. She tries to hide her suffering before their daughter but reaches a time she realizes that Danielle was suffering in silence. She finds Danielle and her friend sharing about their family where she says her parents were always in fight wherever they are together. This breaks her more, deciding to share her life with a cruel husband with Miss Clara who was more experienced. Besides, viewers in most instances laugh to the extent of getting tears, for the lively portrayal of a spiritual advisor by Miss Clara who inspires many. She makes the film appear real that one desires to watch more and more. Also, Miss Clara stands out as a prayer warrior and encourages Elizabeth to use her closet as a “War Room” for the battle.

The film's centerpiece sequence happens early on, as Elizabeth sits lamenting in her secretive room while beseeching, "Lord, help him love me once more." This instant is tear-jerking for all the erroneous reasons. Subsequently, Kendrick has mistaken a simplistic misrepresentation for persons who exist in the actual world. They overlooked to offer Tony with any compensatory qualities that would build the desire in us to root for his matrimony. As for the movie's advice to women who are abused by their spouses, one of Elizabeth's workmate counsels, "Learn to duck so God can hit him."

Despite the nuptial having numerous problems, they all simmered to one source, Satan. Kendrick Brothers portray Satan as a living creature in the house that needs to be cast out. It was the devil who drove Tony to a cheat date. On the other hand, Elizabeth's prayers to God caused him to have a digestive problem that interfered with the date. The likelihood of casting out Satan occurs miraculously in the movie, when Elizabeth casts out the villain, out of the household in an inspiring, disputed psychotic monologue that changes everything. These occurrences are very emotional in the setting. Also, the power of the prayer is figured excellently throughout the movie, which its outcome is seen as the movie ends. Prayer is portrayed as a Christian weapon for all difficulties.

In conclusion, War Room is such an uplifting movie that attracts both Christian and non-Christian believers with its plot and setting. The spiritual support for the film have impacted many especially the non-believer. The film also have a moral influence in the society as it discourages divorce, promotes sharing, and reminds spouses of their responsibilities in the family. Therefore, is unquestionable that War Room deserved the award of the most inspiring movie and Dove Award for its inspiration.
