In the introductory recording, Dr. Gregory Futral primarily covers the course's details, critical sections of the class text, and requirements of students, and resources to use for the course. Dr. Futral has vast experience teaching undergrads, working on middle-health and psychiatric issues in residential and in-patient settings. He notes that the class will be entirely online, and the book by Cohen & Swerdlik (2018) is a requirement for the course. Attendance for the course is a requirement, and to be marked as attended, the learner should do three out of the four weekly activities on a minimum. Participation comes from total engagement in the course, and a learner is not allowed to miss attendance of more than 20% of the course. Class synchronized live meetings will be on Monday evenings from about 6-8 pm even though Dr. Futral mentions he will record and upload these sessions for reference for learners that miss due to issues like technological hitches. The weekly summaries will indicate the student's participation; whether they attended the sessions live or watch the recording. Students should be sure to include critical details in their summaries to show they attended.

Dr. Futral mentions that core assignments for the course will include summary submissions, internet test assignments, test critique, and discussion board work explains the location of the course schedule and resources on the campus website. He explains that the weekly summaries will include main topics throughout the chapter or the video with credible information. The tests and assignments have timelines, and it’s necessary to adhere to these submission deadlines indicated on the dashboard and or assignments. He notes that comments on discussion boards should be respectful, fully addressing questions posed, and stimulating further discussion to achieve the highest quality score. Learners have to post individual responses to be able to view the responses of other people. The internet tests will involve choosing any test available on the internet except Myers Briggs tests, INFJ, or similar. A key point, the author urges students to follow instructions for each assignment and refer to the rubrics. He provides instructions on accessing the online yearbook database and encourages proper APA style for ease in grading and determining coverage. All assignments submitted will be checked on Turnitin, and plagiarism of any kind is prohibited, including self-plagiarism. The author states the students' real understanding of the course majorly depends on what they grasp during the first half of the term. Two main examinations will be administered to test the understanding of the whole course. Dr.Futral highlights evaluation and grading scales and discourages students from late submissions to avoid penalties. He further provides Mrs. Bridgeforth’s contact for learners with a covered disability to reach out for special accommodations. In the final part of the video, Dr. Futral explains what learners should expect in chapter 1 of the class text, primarily definition of terms, tools of psychological, regulation and legislation of testing, settings of testing, and assessment of persons with disabilities.
