Women Involvement in Politics.

Women involvement in politics came into existence in the nineteenth century, but before then politics that would lead to leadership roles was a field for men. The ideology that men were the only potential leaders emerged from the family unit in which the man was the head and the woman his subject. Traditions and beliefs are long gone, and now the world has evolved in such a way that everybody is part and parcel of development (Kingfisher, 2013). Active stereotypes lead to women possessing low self-esteem and therefore consider political arenas a part for the male gender. In the United States of America, most organizations advocate for gender equality and therefore offer information to the general public about doing away with stereotypes. Promoting gender equality empowers the female sex and gives them a platform to compete with their male counterparts in all fields equally.

Education is one of the tools that promote gender such that women receive training as the men and later receive entry to the right jobs without discrimination. In schooling, women can perform as their counterparts and others can do much better in the academics, and therefore women form a significant group of people that any state can exclude. Tapping the talents that women show would mean incorporating unusual aspects that may be missing in the male gender. Women from their caring nature that they portray when they nurse children can be very careful when handling the sensitive matter and when they need to make decisions. Women also represent the act of responsibility and can, therefore, take incentives when they are at the workplaces. At the negotiation tables, women thrive well because they understand the role of coming to an agreement. Most of the preliminary values those women possess arise from the kind of life they live that is women raise kids, take care of their husbands. They understand the position a man makes in their life and so are humble (Kingfisher, 2013)

Women slowly invade the male-dominated jobs and are thriving well because they compete favorably with the people. Politics is one of the areas that women are now getting into and receiving enough support as their counterparts. For example, Hillary Clinton stands as a presidential candidate and receives support from both men and women, and this shows women can also become leaders. In ancient time because men were in power and women were to be seen and not heard, the women would receive mistreatment and still find no justice ( Heywood, 2012) . As time changes, people also take advantage of the vulnerability of the women and exploit them even worse every day. An Issue such as rape is more rampant, and the victim becomes a female girl who in the future will grow and become a woman. Due to the gentle nature and pain women receive, their cry is, air their plight, and the only way they can do this is through getting representatives in the political field that understands their plight. Involvement of the women in politics is a form of representing the minority groups in the government so that every citizen finds the State a home of equality and no discrimination.

Good decision making requires that all aspects are under consideration and therefore representatives from all areas should bring their experiences and suggestions to the decision-making table. In the ancient times, men would make decisions for the whole family for example where to live and activities to do. An individual, who makes a decision that involves many people without their participation, has only the decision maker's perspective in mind. Therefore it's the role of each state to ensure that all the citizens have representatives in government and the representatives also help in decision making.

The male gender enjoys the platform that its members receive when they engage in politics, and they also know that they receive no objection when they participate in the policy. Women who can try and engage in the policy will always have difficulties dealing with opposition they face. When the general public raises eyebrows when women rise to politics, they lower their confidence and therefore most women would prefer nomination seats than elective posts. Concerns about leadership skills and competencies of women to handle administration become gender bias and therefore women fail to thrive well in politics. Expanding women's rights involves creating awareness to the public that there exists women with talent and have the ability to make decisions and hold leadership positions. Psychologically women receive an upper hand when they handle leadership than men in that in decision making they consider many variables before making a decision (Jacobus, et.al, 2013)

Women have the role of fighting for the issues affecting them for example rights to ownership of the property through their participation in politics where they can air their plights and receive justice. Women in the policy increase the chances of advocating for children because they are the caretakers and understand children well; therefore, there is a double dividend benefit of women representation. Women will therefore not only expand the rights of women but also fight for children rights. Involving women in power benefits from the advancement of social issues in which women take part. Women can easily facilitate other programs relating to nutrition, education, health and programs that sensitize on gender because they interact with most of the issues.

Political factors, for example, balancing representation such that aspirants can gain an advantage on the votes cast by an agreed upon percentage would call for the involvement of both genders, therefore, increasing women's participation ( Heywood, 2012) . Secondly the changing structural and economic conditions of nations require that advancement in education favors a need for the increase in women's involvement in politics. Finally, in the United States, the existence of plurality-majority system allows only candidates elections. Women can venture into politics because in the system political parties dictate the region's representative with gender equality at the back of their mind.

When women get into politics, they present the society as a whole and therefore serve as the right candidates. Women in the policy face many challenges after they become members of the government especially in the offices they hold. For example, women occupy health, education and welfare ministries because they are known to be soft industries whereas men dominate powerful ministries such as defense ministries (Jacobus, et.al, 2013) . The existence of women holding less powerful ministries would typically mean that if a department such as a case would dictate enrollment of only the male because women are less likely to be represented. Women who get to politics due to kinship ties are most likely to occupy powerful ministries, but again they do not know the lifestyle of an ordinary citizen. Women once elected receive additional scrutiny of their private life, for example, their marriage status and even their fashion choices. Strong judgment arises in the media especially when the women politician is not a family woman.

Women being the minor group in society they also play a significant role in representing the disadvantaged. The involvement in politics means a lot of power to compete in a field known to be contested by men. Women in power are more vulnerable to critics than their male counterparts. Any commanding position is prone to critics, but women are known to handle pressure without mixing with business ( Heywood, 2012) . Therefore, women can multitask and yet emerge victorious in all scenarios. The involvement of women in politics brings to the table the aspect of advice to all the members involved and they would prefer teamwork and sharing of responsibilities.

In the policy women can grow their skills in governance and leadership, therefore, transmit the skills to other vulnerable groups. Skills from politics help the women stand up for themselves even when they are out of the limelight hence an opportunity in government brings power to the women. In the traditional times, women would fear politics because of they thought politics was man job .when discrimination arose then they knew with the power they would fight for their rights. The curiosity that people received no discrimination because they were in authority made the women looks for power to reduce discrimination against them.

The primary reason as to why females aim at reducing discrimination is because of the emergence of sharing of power amongst both genders (Kingfisher, 2013) . The current world advocates for equality, therefore, the involvement of women in politics is a clear indication of sex equality. Women benefit from the fact that they will benefit from receiving opportunities in the policy through nominations. Men dominate the political world, and this means that very few women would get opportunities in politics. Therefore, the federal law requires that every state has at least a few positions set aside for women both elective and nominative seats.

Women who are still in power are in a better position of creating reforms so that they can fight for the rights of other minority groups .women in the position of authority, therefore, have the power to pass bills in the Senate and still get support. Most citizens receive information through the media ( Heywood, 2012) . Therefore, they carefully follow through proceedings as women argue in the Senate to pass bills .the media platform helps women get support from the general public and therefore possess the power they need to fight for the vulnerable groups. Reforms made to the federal constitution are gender sensitive in that each citizen has an equal right of being in politics or declining to be in the policy.

Gender bias is a crime punishable by the federal law, so women equally enjoy the provisions of the constitution and believe that they have full protection against discrimination. Well-developed judicial bodies provide each citizen with the right to receive justice when the individuals face prejudices women can receive justice if they just walk into a court to sue any politician who commits any injustice in and is sure that they will receive justice. Sexual harassment in the workplace is an injustice that most women face, so women in politics have a role in making laws that reduce the occurrence of these criminal offenses.

Women in power are prone to boast and are likely to forget therefore forget. The ideology that no one should trust a woman for a political seat because once they are in power, they boast and start to look down upon others is rampant (Sathiabama, 2010). The people who hate each other and would not want their friends to prosper are women. The say women are their enemies such that they believe that electing their own would not contribute to development but more problems. Politician women, therefore, find it tough to receive support from fellow women even though their objectives are realistic and achievable.

Women usually in the ancient time have deprived the chance to exercise their political power until currently; all states grant women an equal right to vote. Even though the women have the right to vote, only a few women turn out to the polls because they have other engagements at home such as taking care of the children. Most women also do not possess the correct information they need to vote a candidate because when men watch the news on the television, women are busy cooking or taking care of the kids. Information itself is enough to power that a woman needs to exercise their political role with their consent. Women that happen to appear in the voting stations do not do research on the candidate but the go to vote for any candidate because their husbands say so.

Women always need to receive the words of comfort that everything shall be okay therefore when they learn that the only possible way out of their struggles is rising and airing their views, and then they bring a revolution. The common saying that ‘educate a girl and educate the whole world' means that women have a collective way of attending to issues because they can feel the pain from every aspect, unlike the male who turn out to be careless. Whether a woman works or not, when marriages break, the woman is to stay with the kids until they are eighteen years of age. No one bothers about the hell they go through raising the children even though the father offers money to support. Only a woman would understand what it means to raise children alone with a father just sending upkeep money which you too can provide (Sathiabama, 2010)

Empowering a woman involves motivating her to be like the counterpart and even surpass the men: that is why you find a Chief Executive Officer Lady who has the real motivation doing well than other men. Women are significant contributors to any economy because they bear, raise and educate the leaders of tomorrow, therefore, should be the backbone of any decision making process. In conclusion, indeed women require public support when they engage in politics because they can represent quite some citizens as compared to their male counterparts. Just as women have issues with their confidence, then continued support would mean empowering the women hence help them be in authority. Organizations that fight for gender equality should receive more funding and qualified personnel to help in the fight against discrimination (Jacobus, et.al, 2013).

Political arenas should also incorporate the gender platforms such that women and men compete favorably without stereotypes. Additionally, women should not only stand for elective posts but also empower their fellow women to exercise their political right of voting. Educating women and getting information at their disposal would imply that they will possess the power they need to vote in leaders of significance that can improve the living status. When women receive the power they require, then they are more likely to vote as compared to men. Finally, women receive protection, but that should not mean that they do not stand up for themselves but exploit the opportunities to change the world for they possess the motherly love (Sathiabama, 2010) . Balancing between politics and family can be a challenge, but this fact should not stop women from rising to power when they have the ability.

Empowering the women still, leaves other aspects a nightmare, for example, sharing of household chores equally with men even though they work in similar professions. Therefore women's income is only a means of survival and that their status depends on their learning not how they spend their earning.
