The school’s website is gateway.ops.org. Markedly, the school has eight hundred and fifty-one students, and the student-teacher ratio is 17:1. The school admits standard from PK to 6, and the district spending per student is 10, 783 dollars. Moreover, the total number of classroom teachers is forty-nine (Gateway Elementary School, 2018). 

I chose Gateway Elementary School because it is among the best schools in the district. In that regard, it has been reported that, based on the state test scores, sixty-one percent of students at this school are at least proficient in math and sixty-eight percent in reading. Notably, this is a remarkable performance and parents can be assured of their children performing well in their exams when they join this school. 

Furthermore, the school is linguistically and culturally sensitive to the community that it serves. On that line, the school is unique, and this is the other reason I picked it. Gateway Elementary School's diversity is 0.41, which is more than the state average that stands at 0.26 (Gateway Elementary School, 2018). Apparently, the diversity of this school has remained comparative flat for the last five years. The racial breakdown includes 76.8% Hispanic, 16.5% White, and other races comprise 2.6 percent of the total number of the students in the school (Gateway Elementary, 2018). Based on this, one can find that the school allows the students from different races to mingle and learn from each other’s cultures. Indeed, being part of such a community helps people to develop and work together comfortably.
