Self-care is a multifaceted, multidimensional process that entails purposeful engagement in the life strategies that promote healthy functioning and enhancement of the overall well-being. Because of the presence of stressors in life, self-care is important in establishing resilience towards such life stressors. My self-care plan is to maintain good physical health while also keeping stable mental health. A combination of these two areas of well-being can play a key role in positive living and elimination of the stressors in life. Taking care of the body and making it run effectively can help in healthy living. The physical body has a strong connection with the mind, which makes a person feel better. The physical body entails issues such as exercise, sleep, and how well a person meets the physical needs of the body. The mental health, on the other hand, is concerned with how a person thinks because this has a great influence on the psychological well-being of an individual. I intend to engage in various activities that will keep my mind positive and active and to develop a mentally healthy life.
One of the evidence to show that I have grown is because of my stable physical health. I have a balanced body weight in relation to my height. Maintaining the right body weight helps reduce the risks of developing certain health problems such as heart attacks ( Davis et al., 2015 ). A medical test has also shown that I have a lower blood cholesterol level. High cholesterol levels increase the chances of an individual developing a certain disease such as high blood pressure. I go for frequent medical checkups to ascertain my physical health and ensure that I am free from diseases at all times. Frequent exercise, proper dieting, getting enough sleep, and taking charge of my health has played a key role in the overall improvement in my body health ( Gillen, 2015 ). I also tend to have a positive state of mind which I have built by training myself to think positively and accept myself. Positive mental health starts with self-acceptance, which then directs a person to think in a positive direction. My stable mental state has also been fueled by being open to friends, sharing, and socializing. This helps me share any negative feeling that I could have with others so that they can help me get a solution. I always feel happy, determined, and willing to socialize and share with friends and family members.

Getting enough exercise is one of the ways that I intend to use to enhance my physical and mental well-being. Physical exercise is important in increasing fitness and flexibility and making a person maintain a healthy body. Physical exercise helps burn fats and cholesterol, thus reducing the chances of developing certain diseases such as heart attack and high blood pressure. The other way I intend to ensure continuous growth is to get adequate sleep. Having enough sleep is necessary for both physical and mental well-being. People who get enough sleep tend to be active, happy, and less distressed. A good diet can also help enhance the growth of mental and physical well-being. Proper diet ensure one has the right body and weight as well as the level of cholesterol, all which are essential for the maintenance of a positive life. Taking enough rest from the routine activities such as work can also be used to promote mental growth and achieve stability ( Dattilio, 2015 ). Routine activities may get boring, and taking a rest and going for a trip to relax and enjoy free time can help refresh the mind. Engaging in activities that help one stay mentally healthy can also promote growth in the self-care plan.
