My transition to college and the teaching profession has been driven by the constant belief that I have held within myself that I needed to undertake a career that would ensure that I make a significant impact to my community. I believed that it was vital for me to focus on a career in areas such as education, which would provide me with a front through which to maximize my expectations as a teacher. Additionally, this would have contributed to me offering a platform through which students would be able to build on their respective career choices. The outcome of this is that it would have helped me with a front that would ensure that I can meet my set out objective, which was to impact my community in one way or another.
While in high school, I had considered the idea of having to study education in higher education but I never actually paid close attention to this thought. However, the career counselor in my school played a critical role in providing me with the encouragement that I needed to understand my ambition towards becoming a teacher. Additionally, my parents also encouraged me with the view being towards ensuring that I believed in everything that I was doing in a bid for me to move into higher education. After completing my high school education, I had to make a critical decision on the course choice that I would take as part of my college education. Thus, this prompted me towards reflecting more upon myself and my abilities before I made the final decision to study education with the view of becoming a professional teacher in the future.

Additionally, I used the internet for purposes of finding a wide array of resources and reading different materials that would help me understand the professional expectations for persons intending to become teachers. I would argue that the material I read through different websites may have contributed towards ensuring that I am well positioned towards build the overall levels of professionalism in my expectations in ensuring that I build my career as a teacher.
