First, I have learned that nonverbal communication is the procedure of applying messages as opposed to words to formulate meaning. Apart from the description of nonverbal communication, I have also understood that it is classified in four distinct ways namely personal, universal, cultural, and unrelated nonverbal communication. The areas that I will bring to my field of study include the use of nonverbal communication in revealing repetition, emphasis, complementation, contradiction, substitution as well as regulation. Areas of improvement and opportunity include thinking of nonverbal codes which are categorized in several major areas and work on them to enhance the use of such communication. 

Such areas when using nonverbal communication include body movement, physical characteristics, and vocal quality, touching behavior, application of space or proximity, dressing, and various other artifacts not forgetting the environment. Aside from these areas, I discovered some challenges in using nonverbal communication, such as the complexity of interpreting nonverbal codes. For instance, a single code may communicate various meanings; others illustrate the same thing and thirdly, the interpretation alternates. This, therefore, presents challenges and opportunities that I have to improve upon for the effective use of nonverbal communication. The application of symbols and body movements are essential for the development of my communication skills. Henceforth, I will be capable of delivering messages more comprehensively with such techniques. Having the ability to effectively comprehend and manage messages will assist me to present myself in the manner I desire to be perceived.

The preliminary memory I vividly recall is the definition of verbal communication which can take the form of spoken phrases between two or more persons or sometimes written word in written communication. This, therefore, is language. Language is a collection of words, letters or symbols characterized by arbitrary meanings that are regulated by rules and deployed in communication. I learned that language involves rules among them the syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Culture and language are entwined because the transmission of cultures takes place through language and people's notion of reality is determined by their thought procedures which are further limited by language. Therefore, language shapes reality. Furthermore, I discovered that language is abstract and arbitrary. Areas of strength in verbal communication involve unique forms such as colloquialism, clichés, slang, euphemism, jargon, regionalism, Sexist language, racist language as well as heterosexual language. The understanding of these forms of unique language will add to my corrective use of verbal speech in addition to eloquence in English dialect. 

I intend to demonstrate my verbal communications knowledge by avoiding confusion, increasing concreteness, descriptiveness, locate the difference between inference and observation, as well as illustrating a cultural competence. Areas of complexity and improvement include understanding the many purposes of verbal communication with the primary function being relaying of information to one or many recipients. This involves everything from sole-syllable to difficult conversations and is dependent on both emotion and language to dispatch the required effect. Further, it should be pointed out that verbal communication can be applied to inform, argue, inquire, and discuss matters of many kinds. It is essential to learning, teaching, in addition to building relationships and forming bonds with other people. Finally, nonverbal and verbal communications are essential in making us comprehend their distinct aspects and the vital roles they play in people's interactions. Communication makes the world move on as many activities are conducted in the necessary way.
