First, the working environment at Potomac is cruel than at Deep Drive Pizza. At Potomac, Martha has an unstable working relationship with people that matter most in her working environment. For a smooth working in an office, all staffs need to be friendly with the ability to understand each other to form a team that can work towards achieving a common goal. This is not the case of Martha and her colleagues at Potomac Waters. Unlike at Deep Dive where she enjoyed a company of people with a team spirit, the colleagues at Potomac views her as an incompetent and inexperienced worker who should not be recognized and given any meaningful assignment. Also, there is hatred between Martha, Jamie, and Natalie. Considering that these are the staffs close to her, she is undergoing a difficult time associating with them in the company. Her situation can turn worse if she makes a move of reporting this behavior to the higher authorities in the company. The best thing is to quit before her condition turns out to be a nightmare. Also, Martha has to move to progress faster with regards to her profession in marketing. At Potomac, there are limited chances of her development. First, the staffs are unwilling to help her development. She is not given any meaningful work other than acting as Jamie's courier and gathering signatures for a billboard advert. Other than that, Martha does not get any recommendation and is not recognized for any work she undertakes. Her bosses take all the reputation and does not acknowledge her for her contribution. Other than this, Natalie who is her main hope of progress in the organization does not want to engage her in any meaningful talk that could help her grow. She disregards her contributions and refers to her as a recruit. For better progress in an organization, an employee needs support from other employees and mostly from her boss. At deep Drive Pizza, Martha contribution was highly valued. She was part of the team that accepted her. She contributed in the marketing segment, and the boss appreciated her impact on the day she was leaving the company. This is the kind of atmosphere she needs to progress with her career and achieve her ambition.
