How what you found in your research has informed your practice as a teacher

As a teacher, the research results have made me aware of different diversity of the students I teach; my research focused on the difference in the socio-economic status of the students I will be teaching. Diversity affects the intelligence of elementary of the younger students significantly (Knight et al., 2009). The African American students who come from the low socioeconomic background are exposed to a higher risk of criminal activities. The risks will affect their performance in the classroom. Therefore as a teacher, I will have to come up with unique ways of handling my students according to their difference in socioeconomic status. My target will be to ensure that all students grasp whatever I teach in class. 

I have learned that students who live above the poverty level have a strong test performance against children who live below the poverty standard. Using the score from the data collected, students from high or average socioeconomic income are more proficient in their vocabulary than students who are or live well below the poverty level. Prefrontal Cortex (PFC) is vital to the early learning stages for children (Knight et al., 2009). PFC region affects the process of how well students comprehend and interpret data provided. The Low Socioeconomic background students' brains do not understand and development at an adequate rate as children who are raised above the socioeconomic status.

The research showed that when an early intervention program is placed in impoverished areas, the probability of crime is lowered at an astounding level. Therefore, the skills that are learned at an early age provide a better background and understanding for children who are entering the structured learning environment of education (Knight et al., 2009). The children who are exposed to real-world situations in a stimulating learning environment are more apt to exhibit self-control and show less aggressive behaviors towards individuals.

How will you consider the needs of your chosen diversity group in future lesson plans?

As a teacher, I will have to use different tactics of teaching students from different socioeconomic status in my future class. I will have to group my students and provide different strategies for lower socioeconomic students' to master the goal of helping all students (García, Heckman, & Ziff, 2019). For students from poverty level who have lower proficient in their vocabulary will have more time for learning. The excess time will help them to catch up with the other students who are above the poverty level.

Through the use of Prefrontal Cortex method of teaching, I will be able to know how the region affects the process of how well students comprehend and interpret data. The slow students will have to practice more for better performance (Knight et al., 2009). Classroom modifications may need to be adjusted to ensure that children are comfortable in their learning environment. For example, I will not require a child from a poor background to sit-down and may provide an alternative like a beanbag or ball for the child to sit on to engage them in learning. Therefore, they will require to know the background information of every student in my classroom, or they will lack the understanding necessary to master the standard.

The lack of spending in education creates curriculum modifications, especially to students who attend school in a poverty-stricken area. As a teacher, I will have to teach a curriculum that is not designed for their students, and they have to adjust yearly to keep their students above par (García, Heckman, & Ziff, 2019). I will have to organize on how to expose my students to the outer world. The field trips will spark an interest and desire for my students to accomplish their goals and ensure that they are successful in any endeavor that they choose to pursue in life. The exposure will help the students experience the other side of the world hence hard work towards a better future.

How Will The Characteristics Of Your Diversity Group Impact You Classroom/Curricular Modifications And Your Teaching/Instructional Strategies?

The characteristics of my students from different sociocultural diversity will impact into the modification of my classroom in several different ways. Students who come from below poverty level do not have a greater external connection with the world; it makes learning more difficult for them (García, Heckman, & Ziff, 2019). The difficulty can create more adversity in the classroom with these students as far as behavior. They may begin to act out to due to lack of knowledge and ability to learn a particular content. Therefore as a teacher, I will modify my classes into field trips and engaging with students from other parts of the country. The field trips and benchmarking will allow my students to get more information on other areas. 

Classroom modifications may need to be adjusted to ensure that children are comfortable in their learning environment. For instance, a teacher must ensure that the children from low socioeconomic statuses have the basic materials required for learning to take place. These materials may include books, pens, and other classroom materials (García, Heckman, & Ziff, 2019). Children who live a more substantial economic status have better results when it comes to grammar, remembering facts, and overall brain function. Therefore, the modification will also include dividing the students into groups. The low socioeconomic status students will require more time and special treatment. The unique teaching will enable them to get more time with their books and the teacher.
