Benefits of Using Solar Power

With the demand for renewable energy, the use of solar power is becoming popular. There are several advantages of using solar energy over the hydroelectric power and other sources. First, solar energy is cheap to obtain and therefore is cost-effective in the end. The challenging part is obtaining the solar system, which may be expensive for some households [2]. Once the system is installed, it will rely on the solar energy to create electricity that can be sufficient for a household. Secondly, the system is safe as compared to the HEP system. The voltage carried by the solar system does not pose a great risk as compared to accidents caused by the use of the HEP system [3]. Thirdly, the system is environment-friendly. It is clean energy as compared to the use of other forms such as coal, or timber. Finally, the user has control over the system [1]. This creates freedom on what to use it on, when and how to use it without strict regulations from a second party.

The Cost of the Solar Panel and Its Adoption

As indicated earlier on, the cost of purchasing a solar panel impedes its purchase by many middle-level families whose earnings are relatively low. Such families opt to use the government supplied power system, which is expensive in the long run [2]. If solar panels were subsidized or a program arranged through which many could access the solar systems, then the use of the solar system will be promoted.

The primary cause of electricity access gap

The primary cause of electricity access gap is the cost involved [4]. Many would prefer accessing solar systems, but they are incapable of doing so due to the cost of establishing a system that can supply sufficient energy for daily use. The government-supplied energy is also determined by one's income, which also determines the rate of use.
