Wellbeing as a state goes beyond the absence of a disease or being free form illness. Wellness refers to dynamic process which cuts across many aspects of life such as the physical, mental and social well-being of an individual. An individual must be fully aware of all these surrounding aspects of life, keep them to an optimal level, and make proper choices in order to live a healthy and a fulfilling life. Wellness has about eight dimensions which include, emotional, spiritual, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, environmental and financial. It is important for an individual to maintain and optimize each of these aspects in order to reach an optimum level of wellness as they are all interrelated with one another. People have always strived to achieve an optimum state of wellness through the societal changes and developments. Through social practice, people have evolved in many forms and created a better society in which everyone tries to live happily free from societal problems such as racism and other social injustices.

Wellness covers a wide scope of an individual's life and daily activities. Every individual needs to feel contented with everything he gets involved with. Every person wants to maintain a positive feeling and a happy life. The topic of wellness has helped a lot of students in understanding a lot about their wellbeing. Stress is one of the biggest challenges to maintaining a proper state of wellness. Stress is a common challenge for most students, especially those students with financial problems in school. Stress interferes with the emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social as well as the physical wellness of an individual. It is important to know how to deal with stress and consequently maintain one's optimum wellness. The topic of wellness has helped most students deal with their stress by identifying some of the things which can help maintain their optimum levels of wellness. Technology in the modern world has come in handy by providing many people all over the world with various occupational and business opportunities. Technology has also made it possible for people to communicate more freely, efficiently, and conveniently.

Stress and Wellbeing in Caregivers of Special Needs Individuals

Special needs individuals require medical, personal and emotional support which are offered by the caregivers. The work of caregiver of a special need individual is quite challenging and requires a positive mentality and a sober mind. Caregivers generally perform all the personal daily tasks of an individual such as bathing, preparing meals, dressing, and mobility. The caregiver may also prover extra support through offering companionship and mental exercise. It is important then, for a caregiver to maintain a good level of wellness and a healthy emotional state devoid of stress. A stress-free and a positive caregiver will attend more willingly and productively to a special needs individual. A caregiver who undergoes a lot of stress and is unable to keep an optimum state of wellness regularly may impact poorly on the health and development of a special needs person. 

Caregivers who suffer from stress must find ways to deal with stress and keep a positive state of wellbeing in order to provide the best care for their clients. The rapid developments in technology have provided breakthroughs in almost every aspect of the social and economic life of people. It is much easier to carry out various tasks using technology. A person is at a better place to fight stress with the help of various forms of technology to keep a happy and a positive wellbeing. This way, caregivers are at a better a better place of maintaining an optimum state of wellness devoid of stress while proving care to the special needs individuals. Caregivers of special needs patients may also offer some services while working remotely from faraway places by simply providing directions on a video or a mobile phone platform. In future, such services may be offered in a far much better way.

Strategy

Stress may influence the work as well as the productivity of any individual. An individual's stress may also impact quite adversely on other people. A stressful caregiver may impact quite negatively on the wellness and the development of a special needs individual as well as on the family members of the individual. It is important, therefore, to keep a positive mentality and fight stress as a caregiver in order to impact positively and improve the wellness of the special needs individuals. As the work of caregiver is tiresome and challenging, one needs to find ways to make the work more comfortable and a little bit enjoyable. This way, stress is reduced and the caregiver's state of wellness enhanced enough to provide proper care to the special needs patients.

A caregiver should start his or her day by creating a good schedule which contains all the activities of the day. The caregiver may use forms of fun such cool music, video games, exercise and movies to help keep an open and a positive emotional state throughout the day. The caregiver may involve the client in some of these events such playing games in order to create a friendlier and interactive environment for both of them. The caregiver must stay connected to the client through mobile devices in order to provide immediate and a more efficient care at any time during the session. This way, the caregiver gets to maintain an excellent occupational state of wellness and good spirit during his or her work. The special needs individual also benefit from improved care and attention. The family of the individual as a whole gets to benefit from the caregiver's efforts as well.
