I chose to engage in mediation as a stress management technique. Meditation is a mind and body exercise that significantly boosts an individual's calmness and general body relaxation (Dunlop, 2015). Meditation is also effective in boosting psychological balance, managing illnesses, and improving an individual's general well-being. Meditation mainly involves activities that focus more on the various interactions within the brain, mind, and behavior. Meditation is generally a safe technique that healthy people can embrace. However, individuals with physical limitations may find it quite challenging to engage in meditative activities that involve movements. Meditation can also cause adversities to patients with pre-existing psychiatric conditions.
Findings
Before engaging in the meditation exercise, I assessed and tracked my general moods and feelings and recorded them. On a scale of 10, I rated my general feelings as 3. At this point, my metabolism was quite high; my blood pressure was relatively high. I also had an irregular heart rate accompanied by increased tension and stiffness in muscles, and I also experienced random brain waves. My mood ratings were at one since I always felt agitated upon the slightest stimuli. In this case, my overall mood and feeling rating was 3. At the end of 14 days of meditation, I reviewed my mood and feelings tracking. The tracking covered the whole meditation exercise period. I ended up with a general feeling rating of 9. My metabolism rate significantly improved. There was also a significant drop in my blood pressure. My heart rate improved, and it is currently 72 pulses per minute compared to the previous 74. The tension in my muscles also loosened. My moods tremendously improved, and I can confidently give it a rating of 9. I was surprised when I incurred another benefit, which I never anticipated from the meditation exercise. After the exercise, I discovered that my sleeping habit improved, and it was no longer interrupted like before. From these ratings, I realized that meditation works perfectly.

Overview of the Meditation Technique
Meditation is quite a useful technique that ought to be considered by individuals suffering from stress-related symptoms such as anxiety, tension, and worry (Dunlop, 2015). Furthermore, meditation is a simple and inexpensive technique since no special equipment is involved in it. Anyone can practice meditation regardless of the location and situation. Meditation is a complementary medicine for both the body and the mind. It is beneficial in giving a deep sense of body and mental relaxation and tranquillity. Meditation requires individuals to direct much of their focus and maximum attention to eliminating the pile of jumbled thoughts that may have infiltrated the mind and resulted in physical and emotional imbalance. Meditation is the best technique for an individual who yearns for a sense of calmness, peace, and balance, which are the primary contributors to emotional wellness (Dunlop, 2015). Lastly, meditation can be a useful technique for individuals with medical conditions worsened by anxiety and stress.
Challenges encountered during meditation
I faced several challenges while trying to initiate the meditation exercise. The first challenge was that I couldn't stop thinking about other things. My mind kept wandering to the main activity of meditating. I kept talking to myself, and it seemed never to stop. The problem made it difficult for me to concentrate, but eventually, I could contain the problem by monitoring my breath. The second challenge I faced was constant nodding and spacing out. I felt drowsy in the middle of the meditation process, and I almost slept off. However, I countered this problem through mental relaxation.
I am looking forward to using the meditation technique in the future. Meditation has proved to be one of the best stress management strategies. It has also proved to be an excellent supplementary treatment method for people with pre-existing health conditions whose adversities can be escalated by stress. Through meditation, I will be able to observe and manage my emotions and thoughts.
