Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique symphony is the piece that he regarded as the best work he had ever created. He was pleased with his composition; Pathetique Symphony which is his sixth and is mainly associated with the death of Tchaikovsky shortly after its performance. In all the six symphonies he created, the last was the most mysterious one and the best of all. Tchaikovsky lived during the romantic period where emotions and feelings were vital in society. Tchaikovsky's use of melody was unique and creative. He utilized patterns of rhythm and chords that fused to express emotions deeply.

In the Symphony Pathetique, Tchaikovsky captures the struggle that exists in a person from the time of birth till the time of death. The fourth movement is characterized by a funeral mood. It has slow tempos and unusually long phrasing. The musical sobs and sights are very intense (Deok 2011). In this final movement every rise of a phrase is followed by three falls that are in despair. The symphony ends in a movement that shows the end.
