Group development is characterized by various stages with forming being the first one. From the videos provided, some of the healthy team behaviors include members being polite and positive to start something new. Also, some members seem to be anxious because they do not understand the work of the team. Others are however excited because of the task ahead (CMOE Inc., 2014). We can see the leader playing a vital role since the responsibilities and roles of members are still unclear.
The next stage of storming is characterized by behaviors such as conflicts and arguments about the team members’ natural working styles. In most cases, many teams fail at this stage. For instance, we can see the team members challenging the leader’s authority ( HumberEDU, 2015). Others are also joking for positions and clarity of roles. Some are even questioning the worth of the team’s goals and are seen resisting on taking on their tasks.

If the team solves all the conflicts associated with the storming phase, it gradually moves on to the norming stage. Common behaviors during this stage include the formation of relationships to bring about a successfully functioning team. The members start working together to achieve their goals. Most of them have become friends ( HumberEDU, 2015). In the attached videos, we can see some team members asking for assistance while others provide constructive feedback.
In the performing stage, members deal with conflicts constructively. They give their commitment to the team’s mission, and cooperation is evident. The final stage is adjourning which is marked by behaviors such as members regretting because the team is ending. In addition, members in the video seem to spend much time together during this stage (CMOE Inc., 2014). No stage is more important than the other. On the contrary, all these team development stages are all crucial in order for a team to grow, to face up to problems, to handle challenges, find solutions and achieve success.
Developing norms would help lead healthy behaviors in each stage. Team norms refer to the set standard behaviors, performance and attitude that all the members are expected to show and follow. Norms would be effective in controlling behaviors because when they are violated, there are sanctions or pressure to enforce compliance.
