Below is Muhammad Ali versus Sonny Liston photograph that was taken by Neil Leifer in 1965

Kevin et al. (2017) admit that Neil Leifer truly was in the right place when he took the heavyweight boxing championship photograph. I can see Muhammad has hit Sonny to the ground. He gains extraordinary strength and towering and provoking Sonny to get up and fight. Muhammad down and completely trounces Sonny. The ring area becomes a perfect studio due to the thick clouds of smoke and the brilliant overhead lights. Neil’s perfectly composed the image shows Muhammad radiating figurative energy that made him the most lambasted and beloved athlete of the nation, at the time when sports, culture, and politics were being hit by pandemonium.

Type of Photography Used 

Neil perfectly uses fine art photography with a rectangular frame enclosing the picture. His work is clear for any critic with a picture depicting an emotion from Muhammad. The image is worth to be carefully thought of to get its real motive. 

Global Significance of the Photograph 

The iconic photo is of great impact on the world as it depicts how Muhammad became an athlete legend. It also shows the powerful artwork when there is good timing, clarity, preparedness, and self-belief among artists like Neil. The photo equally made Neil be among the renowned photographers ever (Tischler, 2015).  Moreover, the photo created good relations between Muhammad and Neil that he could cover and compile all of Muhammad’s images. This, in turn, propelled Neil’s career of photography to success. 

What the Image Could Say 

The image of Muhammad clearly shows insults hurled at defeated Sonny. There is still power and energy to fight and crush Sonny completely if he does not concede defeat. Consequently, Sonny is overwhelmed and fights for his life. According to his posture, he surrenders and considers being defeated than completely dead.
