Your discussion is excellent! It provides elaborate answers to the posed questions. I agree with your view that the emphasis of the criticality of carbohydrates in our diets was quite interesting. The criticality of carbohydrates in our diets piques one’s curiosity since in the recent times we have had some dieters cut out carbohydrates from their diets in order to keep their body weights on check. Carbohydrates are crucial in providing our bodies with the much-needed energy (Harvard Health Publishing, 2015). Like all the other macromolecules such as proteins and fats, carb are beneficial to our bodies when taken in the right proportions. Your question on a particular macronutrient, in your case carbohydrates, is relevant to the question guidelines as it questions the role of carbohydrates in our body. Your hypothesis is great as it postulates on a specific phenomenon, consuming the right portions of carbohydrates being converted to energy. The validation of your hypothesis using the article by a professional in the nutritional field, Dr. Reed, makes your conclusions credible.

Your discussion is great! It offers an elaborate response to the posed questions. I agree with your statement that it is quite surprising that despite the abundance of nitrogen in the atmosphere, human beings can only benefit from it through consuming foods having proteins. It is quite a paradox that human beings cannot inhale nitrogen and benefit from it as they usually do when inhaling oxygen; they have to depend on proteins obtained from plants or animals. Nitrogen in proteins is found in form of amino acids that are critical in building muscles, nutrients transportation, chemical reactions amongst other functions in the body (Berry, 2019). Your question on whether the intake of protein substitutes contributes to the body’s protein needs is quite intriguing as it questions the importance of ingesting protein supplements. Your hypothesis on the ingestion of proteins supplements when on a vegan diet is quite interesting. You could have provided a more succinct discussion of your research results by providing concrete details on the ingestion and non-ingestion of protein supplements by vegetarians. Such a discussion would have made your visual quite relevant added more weight to the topic at hand.
