It would be a white lie for someone to say that they have never experienced any stress in the course of their lives. Stress is typicallymore in adolescents and adults who have tight schedules. From my perspective, I have experienced different types of stress in the course of my life, but the most common one is acute stress. Experts say that thiskind of stress emanates from the past and future demands. I can say that I have fallen victim to it mainly because of the busy and tight schedule that I sometimes find myself in. On a busy day, I might have a lot to accomplish such as sittingfor a quiz, participating in a soccer tournament and finally attending the Youth group meeting for our town. Though they seem like small activities, they may leave you stressed at the end of the day. It should, however,be noted that the most dangerous type of stress is chronic stress. This is the kind of stress that leaves a person extremely exhausted both mentally and physically since it repeats itself on a weekly, monthly or annual basis. Conditions such as childhood experiences and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder are the ones that usually precede chronic stress. The American Psychological Association asserts that chronic stress may also be as a result of the daily stressors that are often ignored and not managed. Previously, I was not aware of the differenttypes of stress because I thought that all kinds of stress were the same.

The most recent typeof stressor that I have experienced is psychosocial stress. At one point, I found myself in a desperate situation that required me to make an importantfinancial decision. The scenario required me to use resources that were out of my reach at the time. Since some of my friends had acquired expensive mobile phones, I became envious and developed a desire to buy one myself. Soon, I found myself between a rock and a hard place since I ended up selling some of my possessions so that I could purchase the coveted handset. Within a few weeks, I had sold most of my stuff but could not yet still afford the gadgetwhich made me develop psychosocial stress. It was mainly fuelled by a desire to gain a particular kind of socialstatus (Scott, 2017) .
The period to exams signifies one of the crucial times that stress levels rise among many students, and I am not an exception. One of the main reasons why stress increases during examinations is because of the significant volume of notes that I have to go through so that I can be confident enough to face the exam. At such times, I am usually exhausted to the extent that I usually take a nap so that I can be able to rejuvenate after doing the exam. The physical outcome that resulted from my stress was that I am usually able to perform well in my tests because I push myself to the limit and put in extra hours in my studies. Thismakes me have a good feeling since I knew that my hard work had paid off.
With the busy schedules that have been adopted by most people, the levels of stress have reached a historic high, withmedics feeling overwhelmed by the increased number of people that knock at their doors daily seeking therapy. It will be better if we adopt the accurate measures that will enable us to counteract stress effectively so that we do not fall victims to this new- age dragon that wants to slay the human race with reckless abandon.
