The sun

Research carried out in 2014 indicated that those who had sunlight getting in their offices or homes, especially in the morning, were overly enthusiastic about life. Not only do they exercise more but also sleep an average of 46 minutes more than other people. The enthusiasm is caused by the fact that natural light from the sun makes people happier. The effect of it all is that the overall wellbeing of an individual is improved. Natural light from the sun is used in theaters to bring a calm mood or a happy one depending on the scene. The intensity needed to create such a mood is slightly medium.

The candle

Candlelight is used to soothe the soul. The soothing effect of the light causes one to be relieved of stress and also increase how aware people are of themselves. The intensity of the candlelight is soft. The candle’s illumination and yellow tones calm one’s nerves down and is appropriate for use during meditation (How does lighting affect our mood?, 2017) . In theaters, candles are used when deep discussions are going on and there is a need to create a somber mood. The scenes involving candlelight are normally deep and mostly require the attention of the one watching.

The moon

Most scenes utilize the light of the moon when it is full. It is at this point that the light being produced is evenly soft but also not too bright to light up a scene well. It gives a semi-dark effect and creates tension. The tension created is well suited for evil scenes. For instance, the scenes of wolf and vampire attacks in movies are mostly made at night under the moonlight. The mixture of dark and white tones allows the one watching to see the scenes vaguely and this helps to create more tension.
