The cause of prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination are all in the social interactions among the different groups. The diversity of humans is a critical factor as humans from different groups might not be able to reconcile the differences (McLeod, 2008). The effect, behavior, and cognition one holds results to the stereotypic behavior against the specific group. The stereotype results in the development of prejudice thinking against them without separation of individuals. Prejudice and stereotypic thinking create discriminative actions against the groups one does not belong. Prejudice is brought about by learning from the society concerning a particular group and conforming to a specific behavior. The information is passed from one generation to another; thus, the community is used to maintain it. Just as prejudice, the stereotype is also a social fact that is supported by the happening in society. Discrimination is dependent on the availability of both prejudice and stereotypic factors (Dovidio, Hewstone, Glick, & Esses).

Biases have been in place for a long time ago. This attitude has changed, and its intensity has reduced with time. In the past, only 4 % of Americans believed of the possibility to have a qualified woman president; this has changed in the recent past, where 92% has approved of it. White, black marriages are now on the increase as compared to the past years, where there were little to no cross-racial marriages (Charlesworth & Banaji, 2019).

Prejudice and biases can be improved through the implementation of laws and orders that support fairness and equity among all the groups. This can also be enhanced through social awareness creation concerning inconsistencies in the firmly held believes as well as the support against anti-social norms in society.
