First of all, I entirely agree with Abraham Lincolns speech of the Gettysburg address. The primary point of my opinion focuses on moral responsibility and freedom. As a victim of the tragic incidents that happened during the battle, it was very appropriate for Lincoln, to start with noting that, the nation came into being eighty-seven years ago (Lincoln, Gettysburg address, 1994) , conceived in liberty and dedicated to the assumption that all men are equal.

When describing the war, he asserted that the civil war was a test to whether a nation based on those principles could survive. He then applauds the sacrifice of victims who participated in the battles and stated that the living should dedicate themselves in giving the country “new birth of freedom (Lincoln & Brooks, 1990) ,” and ensuring that the people's government, by the people and for the people shall not perish.

In my opinion, Lincoln intention was to address freedom, equality, and democracy. Abraham Lincoln discussed moral responsibility when he showed a sense of value and appreciation to the victims who had engaged in the civil war, which created a sense of understanding to the living like us. It elevated the purpose of war from a conflict apparently about the secession to a battle resulting in human freedom. The sacrifice that this responsibility poses on my life considering justice is the ability to impact sacrifice on critical situations to ensure that a specific objective is archived. His speech revealed the necessity for sacrifice among the Americans. In the end, the struggle was about whether the existence of a republic can be a success.
