Many Christians have a different grasping of the social implications of the Gospel practices in their contemporary lives. Luke 19-24 offers a different understanding of the Gospel of Jesus, going by the preaching that he had and the Miracles he performed. The Great reversal provides an insightful implication to the Christians back then that there was a new order in town. The Gospel of Luke offers a different understanding to the Kingdom of God, its meanings and what it meant for us. in the spirit of the Great Reversal, we are made to see that in according to The Kingdom of God, everything will be turned upside down. All that matters today will be meaningless and the vise versa.

Luke’s Gospel offers us an insight that according to God’s Kingdom, everything that is seen to matter to men today will fail too. Also, those that are perceived to struggle today and that is at the bottom of the social scale will find themselves at the bottom of it all. St. Luke's also warning those who are seen to enjoy too much today, making merry and wallowing in the joy and the pleasures of life that, in future, the roles will be reversed. There is a need, according to the Great Reversal understanding for everyone to stay humble and to remain out in Christ. We should show concern and passion for the less fortunate in the society.

I have seen enough of the possible Great reversal in my life today; I have seen the rise of the meek and the fall of the Mighty. I have seen some of my schoolmates who were doing well in class and were regarded as the best in the academics struggle with life, while those who were considered as low and intellectually dwarf improve their social life. Just as in the case of St. Likes Gospel in the experience f Mary who was just a poor virgin girl from the village elevated to be the mother of Christ. I have seen those among us, the lowly being elevated t the cream of the breadwinners in the society.

The “2014 Hunger Report” is an example of the Great Revival. In the Report, we see the Great Countries, such as America reporting cases of hunger within its boundaries, with the hope for the small countries in Africa and Asia, improving their harvest. According to to the report, in future, these developing countries may even feed the powerful nations; the Great Revival.
