The Emirates Mars Mission refers to the United Arab Emirates' plan to explore Mars. The plan was launched in July 2020 when UAE started its mission to explore Mars, and the explorers reached Mars in February 2021. Markedly, there are various essential objectives that UAE attaches to its mission to explore Mars. For instance, the exploration intends to understand how the weather varies in different parts of the planet, which will be achieved by observing different weather cycles on Mars. Moreover, through exploration, people will understand hydrogen and oxygen loss in Mars and how these factors influence the drastic changes in Mars's weather pattern. Therefore, the highlights prove that the Emirates Mars Mission intends to enhance Emirati's scientific knowledge. The Emirati youths are the ones who will benefit more from knowledge from Emirates Mars Mission. Markedly, social media is one of the tools used to create awareness regarding the Emirates Mars Mission. Therefore, this creates an urge to analyze some of the possible impacts of social media in creating awareness about Emirates Mars Mission to Emirati youths. The proposal will discuss how social media has enhanced understanding or causes confusion to Emirati youths interested in learning about Mars Mission. Social media has had both positive and negative impacts in providing awareness about Emirates Mars including fast delivery of information, creation of increased awareness, and there is also the issue of misinformation. 

Literature Review

           Social media has had a positive impact on Emirates Mars Mission's awareness since it ensures faster delivery of information (Atherton, 2020). The analysis has already mentioned that the Mars exploration intends to enhance UAE scientific information. However, the timeliness of a particular detail is also an essential factor to consider. Whereas the Emirati youth would still receive reliable information or awareness regarding Emirates Mars Mission, the reality is that they would have always received the information days or hours after it has occurred (Coignard, S., & Guichard, 2020). Contrary, social media has resulted in timely delivery of awareness to the Emirati youth. The best example is when the explorers reached Mars on February 9, 2021.

Most Emirati youths managed to get the information immediately it was revealed that the explorers had reached Mars. These youths can receive such information on time since they are primarily online browsing through different social media channels (Burns, 2017). Moreover, there are various benefits from this impact of fast information awareness from social media. For instance, the main advantage is that the speedy delivery of such awareness enhances Emirati's youth interest in Mars exploration. There are increased chances that these youths will gain scientific knowledge if they continue following the Emirates Mars Mission. Therefore, this proves that social media has positively impacted awareness about the Emirates Mars Mission. 

           Social media has also resulted in detailed awareness about Emirates Mars Mission since there are multiple information sources (Erragcha & Babay, 2020). The UAE started the Emirates Mars Mission to enhance its people's information regarding Mars and its weather patterns. Social media remains a reliable source of information since it has boosted awareness based on various arguments (Grim, Gromis & Harmon, 2016). For instance, the existence of different social media channels means that people can access information through different avenues. Some examples of common social media channels include Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Remarkably, people tend to like some social sites more than others. However, the availability of many channels ensures ease in spreading awareness through all channels. Moreover, social media has also contributed to increased awareness because of increased interaction. Social media grants people a chance to interact with others despite their locations (Kaya & Alhajj, 2019). Therefore, it is through these channels that Emirati youths’ access further information regarding Emirates Mars Mission. It is possible to gain further awareness by chatting with other social media users based on their understanding. Some social media pages are wholly dedicated to providing information regarding Emirates Mars Mission and other Mars explorations. 

Nevertheless, the main concern is that social media might have also negatively impacted awareness through fake news (Maher & Broekman, 2019). Arguably, social media is one of the channels that suffer more from the fake news issue. For instance, the fact that one can create a parody account is why they gain a chance to spread fake news. First, it is essential to note that Emirates Mars Mission entails critical scientific practice (Singh & Diamond, 2020). The fact that plan intends to ensure people gain knowledge is why they must also ensure that the information is truthful (Narula, 2018). However, the reality regarding social media impact is that it has promoted fake news through its awareness. There are instances where some social media pages might report unconfirmed news regarding the exploration. Moreover, there are instances where they take original information and change the details to fit their intentions (Valkenburg & Piotrowski, 2017). There are possibilities that social media faces this challenge since it lacks proper control like mainstream media. The effect of fake news awareness means that Emirati youths might also lose information following the exploration. Therefore, it is crucial to check and ensure that all details that are provided through social media are correct. 

Research Questions

           The research questions will centre around understanding social media's impacts on creating awareness about the Emirates Mars Mission. 

How does the use of social media impact Emirati's youth's awareness of the Emirates Mars Mission?

Which are the best social media strategies to increases awareness of the Emirates Mars Mission to Emirati youths?

Can social media negatively impact awareness? 

Theoretical Frame

           The theoretical frame for this research proposal is the idea of technology enhancing everything in the contemporary world. For instance, social media is the best example of modern technology. There are possibilities that the use of social media for awarene4ss will either better or worsen the situation. 

Methodology

           The research will apply the qualitative approach to data collection. Markedly, the use of a qualitative approach will focus on face-to-face interviews with the participants. There are many advantages that the research will experience from face-to-face interviews. For instance, face-to-face interviews will enhance better data collection. 

           The participants will be randomly selected based on factors such as the population under study and random selection. For instance, the research will focus on Emirati youths as the primary target population. It would be essential to choose randomly Emirati youths since, they are the ones who have had direct experience with Emirates Mars Mission. Therefore, the Participants will be required to provide answers to the interview questions through face-to-face interaction. The identified data collection process means that the research will have the necessary data at the end of the interviews. 

Description of Analytic Techniques

           The research will apply the analytic brainstorming technique of the collected data. First, the brainstorming approach will focus on the participant's feedback on the research questions. It would be essential to brainstorm what the respondents think about social media's impacts in creating awareness about the Emirates Mars Mission. Second, the research will also brainstorm the issue through a detailed analysis of the participant's response to the best social media channel in presenting awareness. Consequently, this will help understand whether social media has had positive Mars Mission awareness to Emirati youths. 

Data Interpretation and Analysis

           The data interpretation and analysis will focus on the number of people who will support a particular poll question side. For instance, one of the questions might focus on asking the participants whether they have gained awareness through social media on the Emirates Mars Mission. The analysis will conclude that they have achieved if a large percentage of responders will claim so, while the analysis will conclude that they have not gained if most will refute the gain. 

Implications of Findings

           The findings have various implications for using social media as a source of awareness for Emirati youths. First, the results will imply that social media will either achieve an increased use or decline in use amongst the UAE government in providing awareness. Arguably, the study's findings are essential to making different decisions. The best argument is that there are chances that the results will make the government continue to promote social media use in providing the Emirati youths with awareness. Contrary, the findings also imply that there are chances of abolishing social media as a source of awareness on matters regarding the Emirates Mars Mission. The government will quickly abolish social media use if it concludes that there is increased fake news awareness through these sites. Consequently, they will have to seek another source of information. 

           Second, the findings will also imply whether or not the government should continue with the Emirates Mars Mission. Through these findings, one will understand the role of social media in promoting awareness regarding the Mars mission. Therefore, the government should continue with the exploration if more people claim that they are benefitting. 

Future Research

           Future research will take a different approach in understanding the relationship between social media awareness and Emirates Mars Mission. For instance, there are chances that future research will highlight the strategies that social media can initiate to broaden its ability to provide awareness. The study might conclude that Emirati youths' benefit is the reason why social media will also focus on improving. Therefore, future research should focus on making strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of social media. 

           Social media has had both positive and negative impacts in providing awareness about Emirates Mars Mission, as there is fast delivery of information, social media has increased awareness, and there is also the issue of misinformation. The research proposal has focused on the impacts of social media as an awareness tool for Emirati youths. Markedly, the applied literature proves that there are many advantages associated with social media as an awareness tool for Emirati youths. For instance, the literature informs that social media enhances timeliness in receiving information about Emirates Mars Mission. Moreover, it was also crucial to discuss the methods that the research will apply to collect data. There is a mention about the use of face-to-face interviews. The analysis has also focused on the implications of findings in this research. For instance, there are chances that the results will influence the continuation or halt of using social media for awareness. However, the conclusion indicates that future research will focus on better social media use in awareness about the Emirates Mars Mission.
