Social workers are individuals who serve the society with the general purpose of uplifting patients through a proper consideration of their strengths in the society. Social workers holds key roles in the society because they help in the rejuvenation of individuals in the society which will be working towards establishing the economic condition of the nation in general. When individuals have issues through their mental or health status, they became a liability to the society which is economically a burden to the society. Through the intervention of social workers, these individuals are capable of bouncing back into the game and contributes to the steering of the economy in several ways (Joyce, Modini & Mykletun et al., 2016).
When a patient is undergoing mere health problems or psychological issues, they are likely to reach a point of permanent destruction by the problems should there be no intervention in the right time possible. In most cases, such individuals gets to be drained off their man powers and becomes a liability of the society (Bergström, Lohela-Karlsson, Kwak et al., 2017). They increase the dependency ration which is a major cause of failures in most of the economies. Through the intervention of social workers, the patients are more likely to regain their strengths and get back to carry their duties in the right way hence add their contributions to the gross production. Intervention will ensure that the patients receive the right medical cover and gets back to the potential production which could have otherwise blown away through the psychological issues (Lešková, 2017).

In summary, social workers have served a huge economic and psychological dysfunction in the society given that they have prevented so much that could have happened as explained above. Through social workers, societies are capable of getting back their lost active members. a healthy and a psychologically stronger society means higher development hence better living standards. It is therefore critical for the society as a whole to consider a huge weight towards the social workers as they have prevented us so much from both economic and psychological plunges.
