Children Abuse is a broad topic which is covered under different subjects ranging from parenting to health matters. Most past studies focus on girls’ sexual violence’s that is termed as the primary concern of sexual abuse. In 2016, the England FA was faced with a big issue and investigation where more than 50 cases involving footballers came forward for having been sexually exploited by a coach or trainer (BBC, 2016). The cases depicted that molestation of boys is mostly not focused on, and as a football fan, I am motivated to study the issue and gain more analysis on the issue and its impacts.
Based on the epistemological framework that assumes that to best learn about the world is engaging in it or being part of the world. The assumptions give room for one to gain experience from the natural world and learn more about the issues more directly than posing as an outsider (Laureate Education (Producer). 2016a). According to the famous quote, “Experience is the best teacher,” I believe that a social science research will only be realistic and reliable if the researcher is involved with the social setting they are studying. It will help stop determine the biases of other studies and cultural factors that may have tampered with the reality (Babbie, 2017). Culture and traditional beliefs based on ontological assumptions on the issue tend to overstate the significance of the family to children future thus resulting in qualitative research. The epistemological assumptions, on the other hand, tend to consider mixed research approaches to enable determination of stereotype assumptions if the numerical data does not correspond to the qualitative data (Laureate Education (Producer). 2016b).
