Human beings rely on the natural environment for survival. In this reliance, nature is ultimately damaged by human beings. Nature provides a lot of natural resources useful for human survival. In a sustainable environmental setting, the relationship between humans and nature will improve. Most of the natural resources will be protected. There will be an efficient use of natural resources. For example, energy conservation will increase with a possible shift from non-renewable to renewable sources of energy. Dealing with events such as hurricane will also involve the effective use of and protection of the natural surroundings. The overall focus will be to protect nature and natural resources.

There will be protected areas to preserve the habitat of the biodiversity. The wildlife habitat, aquatic ecosystem and the other regions will be protected to conserve these organisms. All the living organisms, especially the endangered species, will all be protected from any harm. Activities such as chemical emissions that lead to bioaccumulation for aquatic organisms will also decrease ( García Márquez et al., 2017 ). Some of the events that people have done to promote biodiversity sustainability include natural preserves, habitat restoration, and reducing species invasion. All these activities protect the various species of animals and other organisms from damage. Salinization due to emissions by factories will decrease to zero in a sustainable world. The aim will be to protect plants and the habitat. Salinization is the accumulation of salts in the soil to a level that is toxic to plants. It destroys not only plants but also the microorganisms.

People will adopt sustainable agricultural practices to preserve soil fertility and enhance continuous productivity. Rather than using pesticides, people will use methods that do not harm the soil organisms. Besides, agriculture will be based more on natural practices such as the use of crop rotation, crop diversity and the use of natural manure ( Zeweld et al., 2017 ). These will benefit the crops through improvement in the fertility of the soil without harming microorganisms. Some of the practices that will be adopted include the application of integrated pest management and the integration of crops and livestock to promote soil facility. Farmers will plant crops that meet the carrying capacity of the soil. Planting too many crops interferes with the sustainability of the soil's fertility. The maximum population size for a biological species must not be met in sustainable agricultural practice.

There is currently a lot of water wastage, which affects the sustainability of future generations. However, future sustainability will see a reduction in the usage and wastage of water. The water will be preserved and used efficiently to enhance sustainability. Besides, there will be an increase in the recycling of water for manufacturing, cleaning and irrigation. The polluted water currently being emitted to the environment by firms will be recycled.

Human beings will meet their energy needs by relying more on renewable sources of energy. Renewable sources of energy, such as wind and solar, are not only clean but also sustainable. It will ensure that the energy can serve even future generations while preserving the environment from pollution ( Saba, Laallam & Berbaoui, 2015 ). Human beings will also switch towards energy-efficient cars, bulbs and other gadgets to reduce the excessive consumption of energy. The changes' aim is reducing pollution due to fossil fuel and enhance a clean environment. For example, changes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere are being made through investment in clean sources of energy. Automobile firms are manufacturing electric cars and hybrid cars as a way of protecting the environment. Greenhouse gases remain one of the causes of global warming.

Recycling will be mostly used in sustainable waste management. Sustainable waste management aims to minimize the number of natural resources in wastes and ensure they are used as much as possible. The wastes shall be managed in a way that makes it have minimal impact on the environment. Only what cannot be recycled would be disposed of as wastes. Rather than disposing of the wastes, the changes will occur in which most of it will be recycled. The water can be treated, while solid wastes can be used to make fertilizers. It will create a scenario where what is left as waste is kept at a minimum.

Humans rely on natural resources and the environment for survival. Achieving sustainability will require businesses to make an economic trade-off by sacrificing the use of specific resources for economic benefits. The society at large will have to choose sustainable consumption and use of resources, which will involve a sacrifice. On the global political scale, nations will have to take a stand on environmental pollution and reduce emissions. All these choices will require that humans make sacrifices by avoiding the use of some resources necessary for survival.
