An effective leader should be able to communicate effectively. Communication of a leader establishes direction, casts a vision, defines objectives and goals, clarifies tasks and strengthens main values (Sethuraman & Suresh, 2014). An effective leader should be caring. Caring implies displaying genuine interest in and sincere concern for other persons. Caring involves nurturing compassion, consideration, sympathy, and empathy. It doesn’t imply overlooking or tolerating dishonesty, low performance, bad attitudes, or defilements of business policies. Rather, caring implies viewing human beings as the most significant resource in a company – and the resource that has the greatest total potential (Sethuraman & Suresh, 2014). An effective leader should be optimistic. Optimism denotes the likelihood of taking the most cheerful and hopeful attitude and to anticipate the finest result. An optimistic leader sees opportunities and potentials in all situations.
