Labor relations in the public sector are guided by societal values. This comprises the freedom to associate, a feeling of group unity, as well as techniques like consultation and conflict resolution. The first principle is that the rights of employees are supreme and should be followed to the latter. That is, individual employees are potential entities and they have rights that must be safeguarded (Johnson & Syara, 2015). For instance, in the bible, a woman who encountered Jesus was told that she could not have what was not meant for her. The children’s (the Jews’) food was not meant for the Gentiles who were referred to as dogs.

Another principle is that the employees have the right to access the organization and information that relates to them. There should be laws that protect the employees so that they fully express themselves (Riccucci, 2017). The principle allows the employees to have the right to hear information and be able to make an informed choice of various issues. It governs labor relations because it influences free communication within the organization and with the other employees.

The next principle is that of shielding employees from being intimidated and misrepresented. There should be limited access to similar rules of conduct. This principle ensures that the employers do not offend the employees in any way through intimidation, promises, fraud and misrepresenting information in all things (Riccucci, 2017). Employees may serve in fear if they know that the organization for which they are working respect people and will always stand for honesty and the truth.

Lastly, they adhere to the principle of ensuring the integrity of the bargaining unit adjudication. The labor boards ensure that bargaining units are there. Bargaining unit adjudications are only touched when the unit, as well as eligibility terms, is scrutinized (Fossum, 2014). Therefore, there is much honesty demonstrated when the employers are leading the bargaining unit adjudication. People must be meek so that they cooperate and coordinate with one another in the organization. Jesus in His prayer before he was crucified said, “That they may be one, even as we are one.” The emphasis is on unity with the people and maintaining a high level of integrity.

Discuss the importance of public administration is cognizant of the letter and the spirit of social equity laws.

When public administrators are cognizant of the letter and the spirit of social equity laws, they make the society equitable, fair and honest. By applying the principles of social equity in recognizing the laws, public administrators have the potential to heighten the chances for the public to access education and other resources. This occurs at the same time when the voice of everyone is heard when dealing with issues of public interest. Thus, the public administrators are not just willing to obey the literal understanding of the words (the letter) of the social equity laws, but rather they would also observe the intent of the writers of these social equity laws (Johnson & Syara, 2015). They demonstrate noble efforts to motivate the creation of various social movements like “Black Lives Matter” as well as “Occupy Wall Street.” These movements ensure that the society follows these social equity laws so that the resources are shared equally among all.

Another significance of public administration is being cognizant of the letter and spirit of social equity laws is that it provides a framework for a fair, just and equitable organization of institutions that deals with the public. As such, there is a fair and equal distribution of public services and execution of the public policy (Fossum, 2014). Adhering to the letter and spirit of social equity laws will encompass considering mental and physical circumstances, sexual preferences, race, language, and social class.

Deuteronomy 18 recommended that the priests of the temple were to be supported by giving them some forms of finance. Public administrators advocate for giving individuals what they feel they deserve within their rights, and this is supported biblically where wrongdoers in the bible were punished (Johnson & Syara, 2015). On the other hand, those that adhere to the law did well and they were applauded. God does not have unjust punishment, and advocating for social equality laws is significant to ensuring peace in the society.
