Introduction

Unlike the old days, there is nothing that is growing at a rapid pace than Concert music. In the world of today, music is viewed as not only a way of entertainment but also as a way of expressing the inner feelings and passing different messages to the targeted audience. Music has now been accepted not only as a source of income or career for many people but it is now a way of living. A concert can be described as a live music performance which is now done in many different ways in front of an audience. One thing that people need to be aware of is the fact that most of these live performances can be done in various forms and different ways, this means that it can involve a single musician or a group of musicians that is sometimes known as a musical ensemble. It is also important to note that concerts are held in different types of settings that contains a wide variety of stage props. This essay focuses on the review of classical music live concert that I happened to attend. First of all, classical music can be defined as the art of music in which the content has been produced basing facts on the traditional culture of the western regions. This type of music includes both the religious as well as secular music.

Objective Description

The concert that I attended was nothing short of a classical spectacular which I do not think I will forget any time soon. Despite the fact that it took place in the year 2005 is still fresh in my mind like it took place yesterday. Without wasting much time, the live concert was a classical music concert that took place in the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia, 2005. The concert was all sold out with an audience that was ready to be entertained. The event was organized by one successful entrepreneur who ensured that the audience got exactly what they had paid for. The entrepreneur was known by the name Raymond Gubbay, who had a British origin ensured that the concert was a success. The banner was well-positioned with clear images of all the artists that were performing that Saturday afternoon with all the details in place. The list of the musicians included Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Chorale, and Bands of the Royal Australian Air Force who were all ready to combine their efforts at the exact time provided to ensure that the audience will be left satisfied. The theatre was also positioned in a way that the stage was slightly above the ground with seats positioned in a column manner to ensure that everyone had a clear view. The organizers also ensured that there were no large screens at the front in order to provide a clear close-up of all the events that were taking place at the stage. The smoke machines made the performance more enjoyable and the atmosphere more fuzzy-edged especially around the arena.

Subjective Description

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra opened up the concert with their most known song "For Crying Out Loud" that had recently been released in the year 2004. This is also one of their most successful albums that have a total of 14 tracks in it. Considering the fact that it was the most recent one at that time, the audience including I sung almost every bit of it and enjoyment faces could be seen on almost every audience in the theatre. The group performed for almost two hours and it started getting late to a point where unfortunately it was time for me and to me, that was enough. However, the other musicians were yet to perform but they were scheduled to perform later that night and I was in no position to stay that late. Judging from that point of view, the concert to me was a total success and this could also be evident in the other audience's faces since they were all filled with smiles and all one could hear is cheering applause for the performers. Even the way the group performed with a lot of energy and confidence proved that they were happy and pleased with the response they were getting from the audience. It was a clear indication that they were enjoying every bit of it. The major thing that beautified the performances was how the stage was set out with lights that were rotating to every angle and the smoke machine that made the performance more lively and interesting. To me, this is one of the performances that I wish would reoccur and it was indeed worth attending.

Conclusion

The overall experience of the concert was exciting and I will not be reluctant to attend any other classical event like this one. The maximum number that attended the concert was a clear indication that it was a total success with the fact that it was already sold out. It was not only entertaining for me but also educative since I was able to pick a few tricks about classical music in the process. The fact that I only stayed up to the fast artist did not limit me to the entertainment since there were opening dancers and performances before the main artists started taking over the stage. Generally, the concert met my expectations and I would not think twice to invite my friend the next time I will be attending such a concert. At least by now, I am 18 and over therefore my parents will not mind if I stayed until late.
