Ricciardi, HAMPSTEAD H Luiselli and TH Camare (2006)’s article highlights that the reinforcing approach can be used as an intervention method for helping autistic children to overcome phobia through a term they referred to as contact desensitization. The research was done on a 8-year-old boy who had disorder called autism, using a changing-criterion research design, where objects were presented to the boy and the researcher recorded his stimuli towards phobia for different animatronic figures. It was found out that the boy had the ability to overcome fear when he was helped to change his attitude towards the figures. In the second article by Podlesnik , C. A . (2016) addressed how a changing policy could be used to help people with autism spectrum disorder overcome overcome a relapse of severe problem behavior. They conducted a systematic literature review and suggested that a shaping policy that support early screening, assessment, and treatment, and bridging gaps in the educational system would help them to overcome a relapse of severe problems.
