The Stroop effect is a unique technique for brainstorming people's mind based on their understanding of different colours. In some cases, it is recommended for people who have cognitive problems since it highlights how they can differentiate objects. The Stroop effect was first published in 1921, and the main aim was to help people have a deeper meaning of objects and not just because they can be able to see it (Schupak, 2008). It relates to printing different phrases of colours on a piece of paper and using different colours. For instance, a person can type the word red with a different colour such as blue and let the students differentiate them. As such, it would gauge their ability of their understanding on that matter. The main aim of my experiment was to gauge the understanding of both high school students and college students on the understanding of Stroop effects.
The purpose of the study is to test brain processing for both college and high school students. It is evident that the two groups of people are both activate relating to how they conduct themselves. The experiment would not be successful if I chose a different age group such as the between the youths and the adults. In most cases, some of the students who qualify to join colleges are the same age brackets as their counterparts in high school. Based on that, it was important to evaluate how the brain of the two age groups differs in relating to the use of Stroop effects (Trainham, 2012). Most people believe that for a person to join college, he/she must have been very smart. However, with the experiment, I would be able to analyse the finding to determine which brain process between the high school students and college students, is better.

Literature review
The Stroop effect has been used to investigate a person’s psychological capacity. It was discovered in the 1900s, and since then, it has become one of the popular techniques of conducting the neuropsychological test. There are different types of variants that are used in the clinical settings depending on the number of tasks, stimulus, and scoring procedures. In the first trail, the name differs with the colour printed on it. On the second one, both the colour and the name printed on it is the same. It is a way of confusing people to determine how their brain could process variants in a given context.
They can put up to four letters with different colour as a way of ensuring the experiment is a success. In the recent decades, Stroop experiment has been modified and its currently used with different objects and letters (Dodd, 2012). Also, the use of sound system could also be used to determine the effectiveness of the brain to respond to certain stimulus.
Hypothesis
The hypothesis of the study was to establish that both college and high school students have almost the same brain capacity dispute their different levels of education.
Subjects
The experiment will be conducted on s study group of 10-15 both college and high school students. For any experiment to be valid, the number of the case study must be equally to the number of the of the variants. The number will be selected randomly to avoid any biasness. Also, students who would be interested in conducting the test would be used. First, it would be important to give them a detailed description of the purpose of the study. Also, they must be given their best scores to ensure that the experiment gives a valid answer.
Materials
Some of the materials used in the experiment include different printing colours and a piece of papers. The experiment was not expensive since all the materials used could be easily acquired. Also, it was imported to select students who were willing to be part of the experimental process.
Procedures
The independent variables in the experiment included time constrain, the material used and the willingness of the students to participate. On the other hand, the Dependent variables were the different colours selected in conducting the experiment.
Results
The results of the experiment indicated that majority of the college students were able to different colours printed on the piece of papers compared to the high school students. As such, the high school students were confusion to differentiate the colours and the words printed on it.
Conclusion
From the experiment, it is evident that college students can easily process objects as their brain is fully developed compared to the high school students. The experiment aimed at testing their brain processing capacity as well as their cognitive abilities. In that light, as people develop, their brain capacity also increases and they could be able to reason and analyse the situations better. That is why in most cases, the college students are not closely monitored by their school administration compared to the high school students. In most cases, the administration believes that college students can take care of themselves and be responsible for their actions. Through the use of Stroop effect, it enables people to identify their different abilities.
