Hello Hailey,
Your post was insightful. I agree with you that the exodus from Egypt, the Ten Commandments, and the Sacrificial System's creation is vital biblical concepts that guide Christians in their daily lives. The journey from Egypt teaches that God is the most powerful of all gods and the importance of leaving sin behind. The Ten Commandments offer a guide of what Christians should and should not do, and the sacrificial system teaches Christians the importance of making sacrifices to make peace with God after sin. Also, Christians can learn from Judaism. Through Judaism, Christians are made aware that they are God's chosen people and His descendant, and as you stated, this gives Christians comfort and hope (Magid,2017). I also found the synagogue exciting and fascinating. What interested me most is the fact that the synagogue is not only a place where Jews worship, but it is also a place of assembly and study.
Hello Alfred,
I concur with you that all denominations of Christianity have similar beliefs since they believe in the same God. The Ten Commandments given to Moses are identical to the constitution, which guides the people on how to act and offers Christians an idea of what God expects of them. Every religion has laws similar to the Christian commandments. For instance, Buddhists have a morality and mosaic system that also offers guidelines that help them develop mind and character (Moe,2017). As you have indicated, these rules include five virtues. However, there are some notable differences between the two religions. Also, I agree that there are similarities between the church and the synagogue. However, I found the architecture of the synagogue more authentic and unique compared to the church. What interested me most was the ark where the law's scrolls were kept and the light burning before the arch known as an "eternal light."
