Employee’s motivation and career growth is also pegged on a good leaders work plan. A good leader always encourages employees to advance their careers by enrolling to different academic programs such as postgraduate studies while also working (Northouse, 2021). The leader will in turn provide integrative flexible and ample working relationship to his or her employees. Good leaders involve employees in theory annual work plan models; where they will integrate employee’s career growth aspects. This will help the leader in prudently creating a flexible work schedules for the employees and ensuring they advance their careers with the help of day offs and study leave programs. Bad leaders on the other turn will negatively impact employee’s career growth program. This is because they make unclear visions, goals and work plans that make it rigid for employees to have flexible working schedules. This will make it hard for employees to further their careers in the long run.

Good leadership enhances clear goals, objectives and vision. This will make the management attract competent and expert workforce (Justin, 2016). Clear visions also enhance autonomy in tasks and responsibilities allocated to the respective employee because of his or her experience in the line of duty. A company that has good leadership will ensure that hiring of employees is based on merit, education and extensive experience of the job advertised. Clear goals will make the leader choose the best course of action in day-to-day business operations therefore capitalizing on employee strengths and work innovations. Clear vision also makes the leaders to implement holistic internal control measures that will eradicate of cash embezzlement in the organization. Bad leadership relationship will always make unclear goals, visions and objectives that will result to conflict of interest, fund mismanagement and unmet daily business targets.

According to Justin (2016), excellent conflict eradication strategies are also pegged on good relationship enhanced between the leader and his or her subordinates. A good leader is able to detect and discuss with his or her employees the possible conflict causes in the organization. From this meaningful discussions, the leader will be able to advice the employees to adopt mitigation strategies so as to avoid cases of conflicts in the organization in the long run. On the other hand employees are free to share their conflicts and grievances with a good leader because they are not afraid of him or her. Bad and harsh leaders are always feared by the subordinates, and in turn conflicts in the workplace continue to stay unresolved. Long-term unresolved conflicts will negatively affect the business peaceful co-existence and processes. Businesses must always ensure they have good leaders.

Modern leaders must have the required traits so to ensure business excellence in both the short-term and the long-term. A good leader must have future-oriented traits (Northouse, 2021). Futuristic leaders always make strategic business goals and ensure that the business succeed and grow in the long run. With this trait, the leader will guarantee investors of maximum shareholder wealth. This trait will enable the leader integrate his or her employees in decision making; and ultimately making the employees to be futuristic and adopt viable business projects that have positive net present values. Viable projects will eventually ensure that the projects yield maximum returns and ensure business success and growth. Poor leader’s in turn make unrealistic strategic goals that select those projects that have negative net present values; this will in turn make the business make loses in such investments. Also poor leaders don’t integrate employee inputs in decision making process.

A good leader must have excellent communication traits (Justin, 2016). A leader is someone who manages how information is disseminated to and from different stakeholders of the organization. Excellent communication traits will enable the leader to prudently disseminate information to the employees in the write manner. Written communications are Memos and emails; the right grammar must be used so as to enhance clarity to the recipient. The leader must have fluency in speaking the required language to both employees, management, investors and key stakeholders that relate to the daily business processes of the organization and thereby enhancing business success in the long run. Poor leaders have poor communication skills and will make it a challenge in timely information flow to different stakeholders of the business.

The third trait that a good leader must have is honest. Honesty in any business environment is paramount to prudent use of company funds (Northouse, 2021). A leader must have this trait so as to eliminate issues of cash embezzlement and conflict of interest. Because leaders are businesses agents, they are responsible for budgeting and overall cash management. They often act a s bank account signatories for the business, this requires a person who have honesty and trust. Poor leaders in turn are always tempted to embezzle the company funds and this will negatively impact the business in the long run; it will result to bankruptcy and closure due to insufficient funds of running the business. A bad leader doesn’t honestly face employees and correct them when they make mistakes; in turn the leader leaves the employees to continue to make the same mistake which will negatively impact the operations of the business.

According to Northouse (2021), followership is the ability to adhere to the direction given and deliver the expected work assigned. Followership also encourages employees to join teams and work together for one business goal and objective. In followership aspect, team spirit is the cornerstone that builds the business virtues and values. Good followers are always competent in making business related decisions, loyal to the company, have good ethics and morals, follow command and are futuristic in nature. Leaders can maximize with the overall concept of followership by shaping the organization personnel and organization. The leader will instill the right command, ethics, future strategies and required competence to its personal.
