The U.S. Global Political Perspective

Several forces influence the global political perspective of U.S. citizens. One of them it attributed to the need for safeguarding human rights. Here, the citizens of the U.S. believe that the U.S. interferes with global politics with the need for offering increased security. This is especially for those nations considered as failing to honor human rights. Human rights serve as a global affair while the present globalization wave has played an essential role in terms of enhancing the participation of the U.S. when it comes to observing human rights. By participating in trade, telecommunications, travel, migration, and flagging of national boundaries, interdependence has grown to an extent that it has strengthened human rights commitment. The need for promoting democracy also serves as a major factor that influences the global political perspective of the U.S. citizens. The citizens believe that the U.S. focuses on serving as a redeemer nation (Payne, 2017). They agree that the U.S. is driven by the need for promoting peaceful international relations, hence a major element in the foreign policy of the U.S. These initiatives have played a critical role in terms of ensuring that governments of other countries treat their citizens in a fair manner.

When it comes to the factors that influence the global political perspective of the U.S. citizens, they influence the perceptions that other countries have toward the U.S. For example, the countries feel that the U.S. is involved in their affairs too much, hence regard it as overreaching. The U.S. has for a long time aimed at dominating the politics of the world while targeting making sure that its influence is felt everywhere. In this case, rather than being perceived as a redeemer nation by other countries, they regard it as focusing on advancing its political interests as opposed to focusing on addressing their most pressing concerns (Payne, 2017). Thus, the perceptions of the U.S. citizens regarding global politics perspectives differ from the ones of other countries.
