The research project provides a comprehensive analysis of music and its psychological function in humans. Its effect in various aspects of a person’s functionality is also explored and backed up by evidence from credible sources. The aim here is to show that even though many people listen to music for fun, there is much more to it than just its entertainment purpose. This paper therefore summarizes all the information from previous research studies into one conclusive report that links music to some important cognitive functions.
A computer-based system was used to randomly select participants for the study in a manner that allowed for efficacy, validity, and reliability. A total of 70 students were used alongside two faculty members. In addition to this, room for more students to join the study was also allocated to ensure that participant attrition was avoided. All the ethical considerations of conducting a research were reviewed to ensure that the research was conducted in the right manner. All the processes that were used to gather information in the system were well articulated to the ethical principles of research designs. This was a very important element in this study because it not only ensured that the rights of the participants were protected but also provided information on all the potential risks of being involved in the study.

Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used for this study because there was a need to explore all the aspects of the research objective. Consequently, the information gathered from these methods was recorded in the form of personal experiences and statistical information, which was analyzed to provide an irrefutable report on the research question. The hypothesis being tested here was how listening to music (independent variable) affects a person’s anxiety and mood, intellectual performance, concentration and focus, and the learning process. At the end of the study, it was concluded that the dependent variables are directly correlated to the independent variable.
