The YMCA of New York Project 3 should address the issues relevant to the communities allied to the organization. Despite the YMCA being traditionally a Christian organization, it also had liberal leanings, more so in its New York chapter. Among the issues that would be relevant to the liberal aspect of the organization are gender equality and gender parity (Izzo, 2018). Another important demographic allied to the YMCA of New York is the youth. Two issues that would be relevant to the organizations online following are the issue of substance abuse and issues relating to obesity and exercise. Finally, the YMCA of New York closely associates with patriotic causes, key among them the armed forces involved in active duty. A message about the military and those who have family members in harm’s way would also be relevant. The propagation of these messages should incorporate three main strategies being attractiveness, compassion, and efficacy in communication.

Gender Equality and Parity Issue

America has gender equality and parity issues over half a century after enacting laws that outlaw gender-based discrimination. For example, there is evidence that women earn less than men for doing the same kind of work that men do. Youth Related Issues

Obesity is a major problem among urban youth including in the city of New York. Among the major drivers of youth obesity is sugary beverages as shown as reflected in the picture below. Whereas sugary beverages are tempting, it is important to note that obesity poses major health concerns. Obesity increase risks of ailment such as diabetes and cardiovascular and cardiovascular disorders (Rosenthal et al., 2017). Take sugary drinks in moderation and, if possible, avoid them completely as there are sugarfree options in the market.

Substance abuse is also a major problem among youths. The need to experiment gradually leads to addictions and major health concerns.

The use of addictive substances has gradually become a pandemic more so among inner-city youths. Among major recent concerns is the issue of opioid addiction and overdoes, as reflected by the chart above. Most addicts and victims of drug overdoses begin as experimenters or reactional users. The best way to avoid addiction is to avoid any use of narcotics and addictive substances including alcohol and Tobacco. For those already addicted, it is advisable to seek professional help before it is too late.

Praying for Our Military

We have our great men and women constantly in harm’s way in a number of conflict areas around the world. The best way that we can support our brave soldiers is to pray for them and with them.

As reflected by the picture above, members of the US Armed forces have put their faith in God. We might not be able to offer them material or tactical help in the field of battle. However, we can stand with them in prayer as indicated in Numbers 6: 24-26: “ The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace ” (New International Version). We also need to stand with the loved ones of those who are in active duty. Let us share our love and support with them as they are also sacrificing for our nation.
