My target population is individuals with intellectual disabilities. People that have intellectual disabilities, if not take care of, can lead a miserable life. Therefore, I feel that I have a call to help them, improve themselves, and lead meaningful lives. Some of the problems of people with intellectual disabilities include; flawed reasoning, poor communication skills, and unproductivity. My responsibility is to ensure that I feed them with the right skills that will increase their productivity. My current work goals are to ensure that I become a well-rounded individual by working with the children. Children who have intellectual disabilities need to get engaged as early as possible to get trained on how to tackle their life with a lot of skills. By working with children, I will be able to increase the population that I serve. Service to humanity motivates me; by impacting the right skills to the children, I will feel fulfilled. Professional development will be of great importance as it will help in my career development. Professional development will teach me the rehabilitative therapy required for intellectual disability ( Buntinx & Schalock, 2010) . Professional development will also enable me to learn how to communicate and reason appropriately with people with intellectual disabilities. By virtue of understanding rehabilitative therapy and communication skills, my career will get developed as I offer high-quality service and change many children's and adults' lives. Career development will be necessary for me because It will reduce the number of people that depend upon the government and other charity organizations for assistance ( Harpur, 2012) . One of the courses that I would like to pursue is Counselling Psychology. Counseling psychology offers a person the best skills for providing advice to people ( McAteer, 2010) . Also, Counselling psychology enables a person to deal with all types of people.
