What crosses mind upon hearing the word theology
When the word theology is mentioned, a range of issues crosses the mind. First, the pursuit of truth engulfs the mind since theology which concerns the thoughts of God is a primary tool for seeking to know the truth. The desire to know God through a conceptual and factual knowledge lingers with the aim of seeking to experience the Divine power through theology. Theology acts as a primary foothold for practical living given the nature of the discipline to enhance the cultivation of important virtues that form critical wisdom for life ( McGrath, 2017) .
Furthermore, the mention of theology stirs an urge to learn more about spirituality which provides religious individuals with technical views of religion, truth, and the existence of a supernatural being. Theology forms a pivotal point which modern religion is founded and the need to understand the Christian doctrines of atonement, incarnation, and the Trinity. Such doctrines cross the mind with the need to understand the critical presuppositions as well as philosophical implications of religion. It is also important to have a glimpse of the impact that the religious patriarchs and early thinkers have had on religion and the legitimacy of their thoughts on modern theology ( McGrath, 2017) .

Experience in the study of theology
In my previous studies in theology, much experience has been earned with much enjoyment of theological seminars, academic rigor, conferences as well as endless discussions on theology. One of the many admirable experiences I have gained is the great focus of the basics of theology in studies I have taken. The theology basics that include understanding the new and old testaments, practical theology, systematic theology as well as the church history have formed a basis for my future theology studies. The study of theology as I have viewed it has proved crucial in equipping teachers of theology and evangelists with the much-required tools for providing effective service.
Moreover, the experience in the history of doctrine have been praiseworthy given that understanding theological disputes, and doctrinal positions are embedded on an understanding of the history of doctrine. Additional experience in studying theology is the extent of freedom with which the studies are delivered. Arguably, the mode of teaching where teachers provide their diverse positions that have been held on theological issues help theology students gain more understanding of theology and can deduce the weak as well as strong points on theological issues. The presentation of theology and philosophy proved useful to me in building a clear comprehension of faith.
Take away apart from a passing grade
In many instances, a passing grade forms the bulk of a student’s objectives in a given course. However, in this course, I aim at achieving more than a passing grade. One of my aims is to gain a comprehension of the various theology disciplines and have a demonstrated familiarity with religious traditions and experiences. Given the relationship of theology and living, gaining a comprehension of the integration of faith, justice, and religious morality forms another take away that I hope to get from the course ( Taliaferro & Meister, 2016) . Arguably, theological perspectives enhance capabilities of reflecting on personal experiences; subsequently gaining such capabilities will be an accomplished goal for me.
Another result that I hope to achieve is the complete understanding of the divine nature of God and the thus gain an opportunity to offer the best service to humanity and God in my evangelical ministry. Additionally, studying theology offers an invaluable opportunity to have a more intensive and extensive exploration of the Christian as well as religious experiences (Taliaferro & Meister, 2016) . I hope studying this course will provide me with the much-required foundation in theology to gain a sense of purpose and meaning in religion.
