Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and complete loss of interest in important things or events. Individuals also find life to be meaningless. There are rising cases of depression worldwide which prompts the need to understand its causes and treatment methods. The diagnosis and effective treatment for depression help patients improve their value of life and lift their moods.

Group A

The Depressed Test website explains the prevalence of depression in the population and the need for individuals to understand whether they are depressed. The website gives forty personal questions ranging from aspects on their feeling over the year, memory stability in memorizing or recollecting specific life events. The test also presents questions on whether individuals had suicidal thoughts at a point or if they developed a high craving for particular foods (Depressed Test 2018). The website focuses on a test in the form of questions that help psychologists understand the type of depression a patient is experiencing. The questions are well organized to help anyone visiting the website navigate easily.

Additionally, the website provides in-depth information on the types of depression and the symptoms, which remain helpful for every reader. Reading through the types of depression and analyzing the questions helps individuals categorize related symptoms in the type of depression given on the website. It is an up-to-date website that is resourceful in understanding the test for depression and the associated types.

Group B

The Mayo clinic website provides information on the occurrence of depression and the clinic's care to depression patients. It digs deep into the vast symptoms and causes of depression. Apart from the general symptoms, the website breaks down depression symptoms among children, teens, and older adults (Mayo Clinic 2018). The website explains diagnosis and treatment options when a depressed patient can see a doctor and the emergency numbers to call. Further information is provided from the website through a re-direction to useful links and articles to help readers build a precise understanding of the occurrence of depression. The website advertises its other health services, which can be helpful for the treatment of other ailments. Since it is a health organization website, the information remains reliable since it is researched and edited by experts with adequate knowledge on depression.

Group A and B Similarities

Both websites provide in-depth information about depression. They first explain what depression is and how it occurs. Then, they provide information on related symptoms. Thus, both websites target individuals who wish to understand and learn more about depression (Mayo Clinic 2018). The websites also expand information on the types of depression by providing information about the kind of depression, its occurrence, and why it occurs. Information on the treatment of the type of depression is also offered on both websites. Both websites seem to have been created without any influence or favor to help everyone understand depression (Depressed Test 2018), its causes, and treatment. Thus, the websites exemplify non-biased practices in their information.

Group A and Differences

The Mayo clinic website is a health-related website whose information remains helpful to their patients and other individuals yearning to learn about depression. Undoubtedly, the information presented is well-researched and documented with directions of care for depression patients available on the website. The Depressed Test, however, is different as the information is not in-depth, which may inform of data gathered from various sources. Not much information is provided on the website regarding the sources of information; thus, the website's reliability is questionable.

Overall, depression and its related symptoms are common. As efforts continue to help populations counter the effects of depression, it is vital to increase information sources on depression.
