The first trait of a critical thinker is the ability to make decisions. People face life situations that require them to make a certain decision that fits their needs. A critical thinker can use past experiences and knowledge to determine which option is the best among many. The second trait of a critical thinker is creativity in formulating solutions. A person may encounter challenges and thus use the requisite skills and experiences to solve them (Victor-Chmil, 2013) . Some of those problems may include convincing a client to buy a product or deciding on the right career path. Third, a critical thinker possesses curiosity and may want to know and understand various situations and topics. A person with this skill will always want to take the next step or experiment on what happens after doing a particular action. To critical thinkers, learning is a continuous process throughout one’s life.

One of the situations when a student can demonstrate those traits is during the choosing of a career path and surviving college life. Before joining the next level of education, a student faces the challenge of choosing the best career out of many options. A person must weigh different factors before settling on a particular career. Some of those considerations include the points required, fees to pay, and one’s personal goals. Those factors will help the student make the right decision that fits personal needs. Secondly, a student must apply creativity to get a meaningful life in college. Some students have inadequate money to sustain themselves. A student with such a challenge can start a business targeting fellow students and thus alleviate the condition. The learner can also explore personal talents which can attract sponsors. Lastly, a student must have a curiosity of understanding the college environment.
