Multiple characteristics make up my personality. However, there is one attribute that distinguishes me from others, and that is my never ending desire to learn and improve myself whether intellectually or socially. Through my daily encounters, I will usually attempt to evaluate my life and find areas of weakness that need improvement. There are cases where vulnerabilities are simple to overcome such as changing my grammar or being more attentive. However, in cases where I am not able to significantly improve my shortcomings, I will seek assistance from an expert in the area. In light of this, I think I have a desire to achieve perfection so close to becoming an obsession. My childhood has had a significant impact on the development of this attribute as it shaped my personality.
In the modern world, there are so many distractions and uncertainties in life that if a person does not take control of their life, it is more likely they will sway with the current. I have believed in this statement since I was probably ten years old the third child of five children. Due to the high number of siblings, I was able to observe and compare myself to them. I had always thought to myself that I was the invisible one in the family primarily because I did not get in trouble a lot and tried my best to keep to myself. My other siblings two sisters and two brothers were always getting into one thing or the other creating some havoc in the family. There are times I would feel bad that I was not the center of attention but somehow realized it was a gift that would help me get the best for myself.

My elder siblings, a sister, and a brother served as a point of reference that I would use in shaping my behavior. My brother was probably one of the smartest people I knew. However, he did not have the best behavior. He always was always engaged in one mischievous behavior or another. My sister, on the other hand, was not as smart as he was but compensated for her lack in developing quality social skills. She would have the ability to walk up to anyone and convince them to whatever story she created. This ability made me admire her greatly. From my pre-teens, I decided to combine these desired characteristics and make them a part of my daily to-do-lists. This action was merely an attempt to gain the attention of my parents. However, as I continued to grow, it became a part of my normal behavior to push myself to achieve more than already was the case.
I was able to recognize that I could easily leave my comfort zone and aim for the stars. My grades were the first indicator as I buried myself in books conducting research in my studies became fun. I would also do further research through friends, my sister, teachers and online articles strategically to improve my social skills. I had realized that it was not only my sister who was near perfect in communicating and expressing her opinion to others as many other people in my life had similar qualities. They would serve as my teachers in helping me improve for the better. I neglected the life of feeling sorry for myself and instead opted to concentrate and persevere through the tough times until I could come to a possible conclusion. This attitude changed my life as it has propelled me to greatness enabling me to make a connection with influential people in the community while my grades back me up as an intelligent individual.
